Still in the title race so let's keep the pressure on and snap another 3 Points. Given that the lads are knackered, injured I'd rotate here. Southampton have been on the beach for a while so shouldn't be a tough task. Rotate for this one and go strong in final 2 games.

I still don't know if W.Ham did us a favor or a disservice. Had City just won, we wouldn't bother with the league anymore, we would have played our C team and rested everyone for the CL final. Now, we're still in the race but we're hoping for an unlikely scenario where Aston Villa would take points off City in the final game of the season and at the Etihad at that. Our hope is even furthered by the fact that one of our biggest legends manages A.Villa and would probably very much love to denie City the title as they did the same to him.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm in the same boat and would love to see another mirracle (this club has a few), but realistically it's very unlikely that it will happen. If Villa played this like a cup final it might have been a different story, but they won't and instead it will be City who will play it like a final cause it kinda is for them. As for us, as long as there's a chance, we have to make sure we do our best and that means playing our better players who are almost entirely spent and running on fumes. A lot are carrying some sort of an injury too. I read some will be rested for sure, like Salah and Virgil, but there are other players that we can't afford to lose for the final like Trent, Robbo etc. who will most likely have to play this one. Even Allison is at risk, as we saw in the FA cup final where he almost got injured.

So all in all I'm happy we still have a chance to win the league but it's a very slim chance and the risk of injury to key players is just too great and maybe even not worth it for such an unlikely scenario.

Yup I agree, our problem is that we need the main lads ready and available for the UCL final. Given the amount of games we've had were bound to get lads that are smashed.

I'm sure Klopp will rotate tonight and whatever team plays will get the job done.

After today, 4 days rest before the Wolves game, and then 5 days rest before the Champions League game. So the actual issue is putting out a team tonight against Southampton that has the energy to compete and isn't at high risk of injury. 120mins against Chelsea means no outfield players will be at 100% for this but some recover faster than others. I'd go for Alisson, Gomez, Kostas, Matip, Konate, Henderson, Jones, Keita, Jota, Diaz, and Firmino.

A lot more changes than I expected and a few of them have barely played this year  :oh:

Hopefully it's more than enough to win.

Heavy rotation (smart move IMO) so a slow start was to be expected. We're only level now but I thought we came back into the game quite easily so we should probably be able to score at least one more, just need to make sure we don't concede.

I hope Gomez is OK but that could have been Trent in his place. Again, smart move by Klopp not to risk anyone.

So far so good !! I think that was Redmond’s first goal for a very long time and it started from a foul on Diogo !! Elliot playing very well. Milly on a mission. Great goal from Mini. Need a couple in the second half.
