We need to sign a defender, otherwise we will finish out of the top 4.

A defender should have been here on January the 1st, VVD/Gomez out with long term injuries and Matip made of glass yet the club does nothing. One of the biggest clubs in the world having to make do with midfielders and kids at the back for most of the season.

If that doesn't show we need a proper cb don't know what does. We looked tired as well which is a concern Robertson was not himself nobby played well for 20min 2nd half but we are creating which is still a bonus and goals Will come.

It's embarrassing that we've not signed a CB when it's obvious to absolutely anyone that that's been our weakness since VVD and Gomez got injured. 3 points out of a possible 15 against weak opposition.. And now out of the cup against the scum.

The owners would be getting an earful by now if the fans were allowed in the stadium.

I guess we just gotta sit back and watch our season fall apart.

A game indicative of where both sides are at...one in form with everything going their way, us the opposite. On another day sally would have had a hatrick. Lack of strength in depth highlighted once again...there’s no way origi is in this squad If klopp had his way. Sell to buy is not the answer imo...we need to be able to rotate most positions with quality. Evidently we won’t always be as lucky as last season regarding injuries. Throw us a feckin bone FSG...at the very least a loan for a CB.

Firstly, Whooptifekindooo we finally score, and to add sweetness we were treated with 2 goals  :D.

Anyhow, I think we played a little better as compared to recent games, had Salah nipped in the 3rd we probably would have had them. Mistakes and a free kick cost us in the end.

We really do need to at least sign a CB on loan if we are to salvage something from this season.

Not signing a CB could turn out to be false economy, especially if it costs us a top 4 place. We are currently fourth but if Spurs, Everton and Villa win their games in hand they all go above us.

The worst feeling I've experienced as a Liverpool fan  was the feeling of inevitability of losing when we had Lovren and Skittle at CB (admittedly with a worthless keeper behind them) but once United had equalised to make it 1-1 there was that same sinking feeling that we weren't going to win that game. Even at 2-2 we didn't show any determination to win the game. We're passing the ball left and right without any killer instinct to put the bl**dy thing in the back of the net.

Rhys Williams is clearly not ready to play Man Utd at OT, specially when the team isn't playing well. Curtis Jones was absent and bringing on Origi thinking he could do anything was a joke. Shaq once again came on and presented a threat, drop Jones, play Shaq.

We didn't have to play Rhys there, we probably had 3-4 other options.

Where is Phillips? He litteraly put in a man of the match performance in the league and then vanished off the face of the earth. The thing with Phillips is he's played more regularly at a higher level than Rhys having been on loan to Struttgart.

It's not like we have one CB and are desperately in need to buy one to partner him.. We have no CBs apart from untested young lads that Klopp obviously doesn't trust.

Times ticking.. And if we don't fix the problem we're guarenteed another Karius in the UCL final disaster.

Phillips just seems the type of player to me who would be far more at home up against an Andy Carroll target man type CF than players with the mobility and clever movement of Rashford and Cavani etc. To be fair to Williams as well I bet he’s not the only 19 year old CB who’d struggle if left one on one out wide v Rashford in counter attack situations. The error for the goal though really was Sunday league stuff, that really was poor defending.
