LIVERPOOL v Arsenal Mon 28th Sept 8.00pm KO

As I have said many times these first 8 weeks will go a long way to defining our season so it’s important that we keep on winning. This won’t be easy, Arteta has definitely added a bit of backbone to them, in fact I think they have beaten us the last 3 times we’ve played so we will need to turn up.
Exciting times at the moment but having to stew over a loss or even a draw over the international break is exactly what we don’t want so let’s keep it going. We have the squad and the potential to do something special this year but we have to win important games like this one. Come on you reds.

IMO Arsenal will be a tougher match than Chelsea even though it's at home. I think they're in better form (than Chelsea) and will be tough to beat. But I agree with yakka, it's an important match and winning it will mean huge 3 points.

Hendo, Matip, Gomez and Koumetino are apparently out injured, so I expect the same line-up from the second half against Chelsea.

Apparently Arteta has been in charge of Arsenal for 30 games and in 25 of those 30 games Arsenal have either kept a clean sheet or conceded just 1 goal. He’s definitely tightened them up at the back and made them a lot more resilient.

Just read some bad news that Alisson and Thiago might be out for this one as well, hopefully it's not true. Same article mentioned that Gomez might be ready to play at least.

He has brought them back to the counter attacking approach that brought them all that success years ago. They are playing really well and its going to be a tough game for us. 9 men behind the ball for the most of it.
Given how the results for the rest have panned out this weekend it makes this game all that harder.

After seeing Adrian last week in the cup I am not to confident we will get a result with him between the sticks. Hopefully Ali is fine.

That's disappointing about Thiago if true. He couldn't be injured already.

Wouldn't surprise me if they've tested positive for Covid-19. Or maybe they've picked up knocks in training.

Are Alisson and Thiago deffo out? Or is it just a rumour at this stage?

Definitely have an issue as it's been reported by the journalists who get briefed by the club. But looks like minor issues and they have a chance of playing.

The nature and extent of the pair's issues are still unknown, but they will be assessed on matchday before Jurgen Klopp makes a final selection call

Massive game for both clubs after Citeh losing to Leicester and Spurs and Chelsea dropping points.  The bigger threat of Thiago not being fit is that Hendo is also out but apart from that we'll just have to use last seasons side and beat them anyway.

Will be mighty pleased if we pick up 3 points tonight.

Cheers CHL, as Reg alluded to given yesterday’s results this is a big opportunity for us to pile the pressure on City early doors once again (remember, last season we opened up an 8 point gap on City after just 8 games and they never really recovered).
Obviously given our fixtures it’s extremely unlikely that we’ll be 8 points clear after 8 games this season but if we are still in touch with the leaders by say mid November we’ll have a great chance of retaining our title.
I know it’s still very early in the campaign but come next May I reckon we’ll look back on the likes of last Sunday’s game and tonight’s game as key moments in the season so we could really do with being at full strength tonight.

Damn, Thiago not even on the bench  :(
Still a decent team though -
Alisson, Trent, Virgil, Joe, Robbo, Naby, Fab, Gini, Mo, Bob & Sadio

At least Alisson is OK. Sad that Thiago is out injured already but this is still a decent team.
