Well the traditional curtain raiser is here, the new season is upon us although saying that there’s an international break next week so we don’t actually play Leeds until the 12th, seems a stupid time to hold an international fixture if you ask me (shoehorned in between the Community Shield and first game of the season), makes everything seem a bit stop/start.
Hopefully we’ll play a lot better than we did against Salzburg.

The whole season will be a mess this year. It's already going to be 4 to 5 weeks behind schedule. If a player tests positive then the club will have to sit it out for 2 weeks which will add to the pile up. Then there is the euro play offs and the w.c qualifiers usually begin around Sept although I think they were replaced by the nations league. Still it's more games in what will be a crazy season!!.

Hopefully we are prepared for this one and put in a convincing performance. They have signed a few but also are missing a couple so hopefully we can catch them off guard and lay down a marker for what's to come  :buttrock

If nothing else it would be nice for Jurgen to win this so that he can add it to his CV. It’s not a major trophy but does have a fair bit of tradition behind it, the Charity Shield was first contested back in 1908, it evolved from a ‘pro v amateur’ charity match which dated back to the 1890’s so although there’s nothing riding on the result as I say there’s a lot of tradition revolving around the game. The likes of Shanks, Bob etc won it so it would be nice to see Jurgen win it.

He (Nico) gave Auba too much space to move forward and take the shot...a player like Auba will skin him all day long. First Arsenal's attack no less

Blunt up front. Has Arsenal's keeper made a save yet?

Are we playing "Paint by Numbers Football ? "

No sparkle , no invention. We're looking stale and predictable.  Thinking about the front three, Mane has been heavily involved, Salah has made the odd guest appearance and I think Firmino is still on the bus !

Not good enough !

Middle of the field was lethargy, playing without much ideas. Without Trent our attack have been mighty blunt

Question...when was the last time we've ever won a game straight after an European training camp?
