We had the ball but struggled to breakdown their bus. Anyhow like other said 1 more point closer to the title. City away it is then lol imagine that.

So wait, if we beat crystal palace, and draw against City, we will secure the title right?

We are on 83 points and City are on 60. They have 9 games left, if they win all 9 and collect 27 points that would put them on 87, that’s the maximum possible number of points they can attain now.
A win and a draw would put us 87 but the title wouldn’t quite be ours as it would still be mathematically possible for City to beat us on goal difference. Highly unlikely I know but still theoretically possible.
So as it stands we need 5 points to put it beyond doubt.

I would really love it if we could go and break the points record. I think City got the record on 100 points. Maybe after we seal the title we should aim for that.

On the game, personally I felt the drink breaks were unnecessary, I felt it interuppts the momentum of the game. Are they going to do it every game?

Yeah but if we draw against City then they drop 2 points as well. So to answer mags' question, yes, if we beat Palace and draw against City, it's over.

I have said it before and will say it again after this match:-

If we don't get QUALITY back up for our front three for next season we will battle for top 4.

We missed out on Werner, fair enough but we need to make sure we get his kind of quality sorted before the start of next season.
I sound like a stuck record but if we lose one of the front three for say 10 consecutive games we will be hard pressed to get in to the CL.
That's how far the drop off is with Origi and Minamino etc.

Anybody who starts a post with that first sentence is a tool, imo

I agree with him though, outside of Salah, Mane and Bobby there is a worrying drop off in class and we would struggle if any one of them were to pick up a long term injury.

Agree also, cover for them guys is imperative, that is why I was gutted when we missed on Werner.

Eh, think we need to wrap up the title pretty sharpish. City were on fire tonight...

Awful game of football but not surprised really. Sure Klopp will use the squad for Palace. Don't expect a classic but I could see us overrunning them with better quality to bring into the team than them.

Imagine the uproar after asking the players to take pay cuts etc if we then spunked £60m on a new signing. Think about it. We won't be signing anyone for a while yet.

Have our players actually been asked to take a pay cut or is that just a hypothetical situation they're talking about?
