It's not happening for us tonight folks...we will most likely be heading to Anfield needing a goal to stay in Europe

I cant believe this ref, he gives them everything and waves a blatant penalty away on the Ox

FT 1-0 to Atleti...3rd defeat of the season...very discipline defending by Atleti. Crazy to see we are still been suckered by the dark arts employed by the continental teams

with 2 consecutive finals it's surprising to see a collective timid performance...yes we have 70% possession but we did fuck all to score which is why Klopp took off Mane and Salah. We lost the midfield battle today

Been banging this drum for a while...

It's for these exact games we need to take a punt on Adama Traore..he would tear them a new one coming on at 65-70 mins.
We have the technical ability and the flair. We are missing a complete and utter beast/battering ram for these occasions against two banks of 4.

Traore would attract two or three players every time and they would bounce off him more often than not...far, far more importantly he would afford Salah and Mane the one thing they don't get in these games - SPACE.. they get that, they score. QED  :nod

Please go get him FSG/Klopp

These are getting it at Anfield. The referee was absolutely appalling tonight! Soft decisions in their favour..

Alot of fouls on us without any advantage in good areas really frustrated Klopp tonight. We played well against a good organised team just didn't have the cutting edge in the final 3rd. The only thing we did wrong was switch off in the first 5 mins that led to Atletico being so defensive for the rest of the game.

The ref was awful but in truth we didn’t play well enough to win, very similar to our performance against Norwich actually, very flat.
We are going to need a big performance at Anfield to get past these, if they get an away goal we will be up against it big time. One good thing though will be the atmosphere, you are always guaranteed a good atmosphere at our place when we have lost the first leg.

Jurgen is rightly pissed about the ref tonight...Hendo had a hamstring issue hoped it's not too bad. Welcome to Anfield!!!

He'd have zero impact against a high quality low block. Exactly the sort of player you don't want in this match.

This is the sort of match you need something from the middle to complement the width the fullbacks provide. Personally I would have bought on Keita around the hour mark.

Jaysus we were toothless tonight. It's as if we were expecting to lose.

Too many players had an off night, Trent’s delivery was atrocious, Gini was anonymous, Fabinho is still struggling to find his rhythm after his long lay off, the front 3 weren’t really at it and even big Virgil, whilst I wouldn’t go as far to say he had a bad game it certainly wasn’t one of his best either.
You can’t afford to have 7 or 8 players all below par in a game like that one tonight.

They simply outworked us. it happens when the team hasn't had a meaningful game for months.
