Damn right it was, so City could never have had a penalty (or scored a goal) from that play, we lost a goal recently for the same reason.

Just don't concede again, the last thing we want is it 3-2 with 5 mins to go

What. A. Result.   :buttrock  :buttrock  :buttrock  :buttrock

Pep will cry about the refs, the VAR and how his team was cheated. But in reality his team was played off the park. And he's been caught short with some awful signings for mega money. 150 million he spent on defenders in the summer, and there's not a single one who would get into our starting 11.

We let City play and hurt them on the break. They are full of excuses declaring 2 penalties when neither one was. At least it gives our rival teams fans something to moan about when in reality VAR has screwed us over more than its helped us.

If that had been a city player who handled it we would be screaming hand ball, however, if it hadn't hit TAA and gone through to Sterling and he scores, it would have been ruled out for hand ball by Silva so I don't see why they should have benefited from a penalty.

Played them at their own game, is probably a more accurate description  :eyebrow

And also worth noting that Man City have to play the top 9 teams in their next 9 games.

City have spent a billion quid so they are bound to be a great side and they do have more quality than us but we did what we had to do, we defended well and hit them on the break.
I thought Gary Neville made a great point, he said normally when City have lots of the ball the opposition gradually crumbles but this Liverpool side seem to be able to absorb sustained pressure from City without looking desperate or coming apart at the seams.
As I said earlier in the thread 9 points isn't a title winning gap between us and them but what it does do is put them under tremendous pressure, their next game is at home to Chelsea which is no gimme but it's suddenly becomes a must win for them.
Normally I hate international breaks but this one comes at a decent time for us, after a bad loss the first thing what you want to do is play another game to get it out of your system but now City have to stew on this for 2 weeks.
If Jurgen can add a league title to the CL he'll be a Demi-God around here.
