Great to see Joe Gomez back...we will need him for the Barca games. Joel Matip while being solid, would be turned inside out by Messi and co. van Dijk, Gomez and Fabinho will need to have their A games

There's no way in a month of sundays Gomez is going to pick up where he left off after a 3 month absence due to a broken leg! Matip is doing ok, let Joe play 45 minutes here and there alongside Matip to rest VVD.

You are both right, you are right in the sense that there's no way Joe's going pick up where he left off after his enforced absence and Santa is right in the sense that small tricky players like Messi, Coutinho and Suarez (who can stop on a dime and turn on a sixpence) are potentially an arkward match-up for Joel.

Did we lose a game under Matip&VVD? Gomez is no where near top match fitness so letting him play is just stupid..In any case Messi should be chased by Fab and whoever else is playing the MF.

Was sitting at the Departure gate in Toronto when the match was on. Bloke behind me was watching the Citeh game on his iPad. So I asked him if he wouldn't mind looking for a stream for the LFC game instead. What he said to me I can't repeat but suffice to say he wasn't a happy man by the time we boarded!
Still peeved I could only follow on the Beeb but what the heck...
Oh, and on Sunday on the way over, couple of hours into the flight the chief cabin trolley engineer makes an announcement over the PA that LFC had beaten the Chavs 2-0. Big cheer on the plane, yours truly included, woke me up in fact, but obviously the pilot was a LFC fan.
