Liverpool vs Porto 09/04 20:00 ko

Back to the champions league now facing Porto at home for the 1st leg.

I hope we can beat them convincingly so in the 2nd leg we could give some of the other lads a game or so.

I would have loved to see Ox and Gomez back for this but it is highly unlikely.

I'd rest Wijnaldum and play a mid of Fab/Keita and either milner or Hendo.
I would have chosen Shaqiri but i don't think Klopp will play him.

A clean sheet and few goals would do.

About our opponents no idea how they are doing. Quick search shows they are top of their league.

I seriously hope you’re right Redshade. Porto can not bet underestimated. They are no mugs and you don’t get to the quarter finals of the CL by flunking it. They took 16 points from the group stage. I accept it was a very weak group but you can only beat what is put in front of you. They also beat Roma 3-1 in Portugal in the first of the knockout games. Roma are having a poor season however they did beat Porto 2-1 in Italy.

Hopefully we will have too much for them at Anfield but I’m taking nothing for granted.

Porto are slightly better than they were last year when we thrashed them 5-0. They'd want revenge for that but if we bring our A game they'll have no chance.

Their attack is far better than their defence, so basically we just need to stop them from scoring, otherwise we'll have no problem.

They sound tailor made for us

Agreed, there's no room for complacency in ANY game between now and the end of season.

Having said that , I expect us to win this one  :D , (but a clean sheet at our place could prove to be vital)

Since the turn of the year we've conceded 12 goals to City's 5 so we could do with the back 4 rediscovering the type of form they were in before Christmas for the rest of the run in.
As for tuesdays game clean sheets are important in any game but at home in the first leg of a CL quarter final they are critical.

Defence hasn't been at their best since Gomez's injury

Robertson is injured so assume it will be Milner at LB.

We need to do well in this competition in case we don't win the league title I feel.

I doubt we will steam roller porto like we did last season, as we haven't steam rollered anyone this season.
We just need a clean sheet at home. Even a 0-0 would not be a disaster.

We just need our Big players like Salah to turn it on in these sort of games.

I'm going for a 3-0. Scoreline, I'm confident that this will not be a stern a task as Bayern.

Apparently Real Madrid have already signed one of their players up for next season so at least one of them must be half decent, we can't fall into the trap of under-estimating these.

Thanks for that. Big Virg and Kloppy answering the questions.

I'm hoping for a 3-0 cushion, clean sheet and make life easier for the 2nd leg.

Spurs got City at home i think Spurs will win the first leg. They will have the new home euphoria and will want to perform on another level for their fans. I hope they do so it knocks some confidence out of those clowns from Manchester.

Éder Militão. Apparently he can play CB and RB and there was strong interest from us along with plenty of other top clubs round Europe. Will be interesting to see him in action tonight.
