So lo and behold we begin our new campaign at home on Sunday against West Ham.

We've done well in the window so hoping our new lads will gel in.

Hammers with a few inclusions themselves in Anderson 38m from lazio, Diop, Yarmolenko and Whilshere.

Lets get off the block with a nice win.

Probably line up Klopp will play-:

          Alisson

TAA   Gomez Van Dijk Roberton

           Fabinho
      Keita      Milner/Wij?

Salah                    Mane
          Firmino

Let the rolercoaster season begin.

That's the XI I think he will go with myself, I'm really hoping he'll play Shaquiri in Phil's old AM position though, teams arent soft, they are not going to come here and 'do a Roma' and adopt a high line, they are going to get men behind the ball, defend deep and pack their own box.
I think our entire season will probably hinge on wether we can break down packed defences or not and given that I just don't see the point of playing for 60+ minutes with only 3 out an out attacking players on the pitch. We know our front 3 as good as they are struggled to break down packed defences last year, that's why we had 12 draws to City's 4, why wait until the last 20 minutes before we throw reinforcements on?
If we don't play Shaquiri the only thing at the top end of the pitch that will have changed from last year is that we now have Keita and Fabinho sitting behind our front 3, are 2 primarily defensive players going to be enough to covert those 12 draws into 4 or less?

Here we go boys and girls, the new 2018/19 campaign gets under way, a good start is required.

I predict a 3-0 to us.

Expect West Ham to park the bus and play five in Midfield against our three to try and stifle us, probably playing a 4-5-1. If we don't have any success in attack after 60 min, Shaqiri and Sturridge can come on to mix it up a bit.

Klopp can play Wjnaldum/ Milner with Fabinho and Keita, or he could even play Lallana/Shaqiri just behind the front three. he has many options available to him now in Midfield.

It's gonna be entertaining.....Here we go, the Jurgen Klopp Rollercoaster ride continues...........

Come out of the traps quickly and wrap this up by half time.

Can't wait. We've had a World Cup but Liverpool is always 1st.

Bring it on  :buttrock  :buttrock

Going through our 1st team squad we have huge depth, something we haven't had in donkeys years, my team would be this:

Gk.Alison
Rb. Clyne
Lb. Robertson
Cb. Van Dijk
Cb. Gomez
Dm. Fabinho
Cm. Wijnaldum
Cm. Keita
Lf. Mane
Cf. Firmino
Rf. Salah

Subs: Karius, Klavan, Milner, Lallana, Shaqiri, Sturridge, TAA

Unused: Hendo (World cup), Grujic, Ings, Solanke, Moreno, Mignolet, Lovren (World cup), Matip (Injured)

Apparently Lallana might not be fit for the game. I'd start Shaqiri in his spot. Firmino might also not get the start, Sturridge not a bad replacement.

Starting to worry about Lallana. It's going to be a huge season for him, when it comes to his LFC future, but injuries are mounting up and preventing him from getting the run in the team he desperately needs.

Feel West Ham will be more expansive this season and play some attacking football tomorrow. Pelligrini has been brought in to bring some joy to the club and as such he won't just park a bus.

We need to do what we do best, high energy and run them into the ground in stages of course. Perhaps our success will hinge on reeling in heavy metal football some days and not emptying the tank for the vital games at the end of the campaign.
