The Danny goal was on his right foot btw, he looks good

LOL Truly in the world game :D

Not a bad YNWA rendition but as neutral West Aussie didn't come close to the MCG one

Good way to sign off for the season (although I almost feel asleep in the second half!)

Those Westham scouts must be frothing at the mouth when they saw Sturridge in the first half.

yes was really good

Gerrard ran the show first half, along with Studge and Firmino, rest of team were decent too

Yes the first half is definately worth watching.

Great to see StevieG and Carra running (running might be too strong a word for Carra :D ) out there in the new strip

What about McManaman, poor bloke could barely move, he got 3 touches of the ball.

Gerrard played surprisingly well, he still has that ability to open up a defence with a through ball. This is going to sound ridiculous but it might be worth keeping him on the players roster just in case.
He obviously can't run these days (which is sad to see because he was the most athletic CM I've ever seen in his prime) but he may be able to do a job in that Coutinho/Lallana position at the head of a diamond.
In games where we have total domination (but we are struggling to break teams down) a little cameo by Gerrard in the last 20 minutes could come in very handy.
You couldn't play him where Rodgers played him screening the defence, but you could play him high up the pitch.
I always thought that he could play until he was 40 coming off the bench in the last 20 minutes to open up teams but if you remember he wasn't interested in a role off the bench. I think he'd jump at the chance now.
Let's face it apart from Kenny Dalglish and maybe Peter Beardsley who has been better in the last 50 years at opening up defences than Gerrard? Coutinho is on his way to joining those greats but he's not quite there yet.

Don't know if you noticed but hes retired and a full time coach now mate lol I wouldn't let a cameo vs an under strength Australian league team trick you into thinking he can hack it in the premiership anymore, Gerrard was struggling with the pace of the MLS at the end.

Yeah playing 90 minutes as a CM, not 15 or 20 as a playmaker in a game we are totally dominating (but struggling to score in).
We need to find craft from somewhere because next season teams are just gonna keep on sitting deep against us, maybe Jurgen can address this problem in the summer but if not giving Gerrard 20 minutes might be worth a try. Even at 36/37 he has probably got more chance of opening up a defence than Hendo, Can, Wijnaldum etc
