Back to club footy after enjoying an exhilarating, exciting international break (yawn). Thankfully we won't have another for a while now.

Saints are a good team so this will not be a easy ride. They have been up and down this season.

I would play the same line up we've used recently. Hoping Milner will be fit.

I think when I looked at the next 4 it was this one I thought was the biggest potential banana skin.

Couts and Bobby are away with Brazil, are either of them likely to feature? A lot could rest on those two

Brazil play Peru 2am on Wednesday so I'd be surprised if Coutinho or Firmino start against Southampton.
Going to be a tough ask to go to St Mary's and come away with the 3 points without either of those 2, even if they do play they are both going to be shattered, Peru is a long way away, it's a 13 and a half hour flight on a plane.

Can't see either of them featuring then, maybe if Brazil don't play them. We've also got Leeds the following Tuesday. In fact the games are going to start coming thick and fast from here so it's time for the bench players to prove their worth.

Origi will start getting some minutes, maybe even Grujic as well.

To be fair it does say in tonight's Echo that they will be back at Melwood on Thursday, the club must be laying on a private jet or something.

Couts played 86 minutes last night and Bobby was an unused sub. So Bobby may start but Couts is likely to be on the bench

Won't be easy but is anything in the Premiership.

Worried about Hendo and Adam. Couts and Bobby travelled on a private jet with some of the Chelsea lads. I just hope it has decent beds and knockout drops !!!

Couts may get a rest so we may see Studge uptop.

Mane        Firmino
     Studge

If Lallana is out than most likely Wijnaldum will pair with Can with Hendo just off them.

Although the potential absences of Coutinho and Lallana are a blow. It's refreshing that the potential 11 still doesn't look as 'bare' as it could have. We'll be fine  :nod

I'm sure Klopp will have a few jabs about it like  :D

Yup Couts and Lallana would be a blow however we have got good cover now that can do the job.

Last nights Liverpool Echo

Philippe Coutinho fitness doubt for Liverpool ahead of Southampton clash
The classy attacking midfielder was photographed at the city's Spire Hospital on Thursday afternoon and is believed to have undergone a scan

Daily Mail also reported the story
Liverpool are sweating on Philippe Coutinho’s fitness after he had a scan at a private hospital on Merseyside on Thursday.

The Brazil forward only returned on Wednesday night, having been involved in his country’s World Cup qualifier against Peru in Lima.

Coutinho reported back to Melwood but did not train with the squad and, instead, he went to Spire Hospital for an assessment.

How ironic would it be if we lose top spot this weekend because of injuries sustained to key players on international duty?
International football is absolute rubbish and should be played in a 2-3 week block at the end of the season, that way if there are any injuries then the people who actually pay the players wages (i.e the clubs) don't lose out.
