McNulty at centre half for Tranmere, absolute legend in lower leagues, ex Liverpool too in his younger days.

Hes the Akinfenwa of centre halves.

Nice to see strong line ups for local friendlies too.

0-0 at Half time, both Mane and Kent been very lively, Karius looking comfortable with ball at his feet too

I thought Mane looked quite sharp first half, him and Firmino linked up really well. That lad Ejaria looks like he may have a big future ahead of him too. So far so good.

Yes, that Ejaria is bloody massive for a young kid, he's deceptively fast as well for his bulk

Decent run out that, the lads obviously aren't going to be at their sharpest at this stage of the season but nevertheless they played quite well. Looking forward to Wednesday's game against Fleetwood now.

Alexander-Arnold really impressed me. His ball through to the equally impressive Danny Ings for the goal was excellent. Loved the way he kept running and asked Danny for the ball so that he could score. Well that wasn't going to happen but it as a good job Danny didn't do a Marco.

Ejaria also looked a real prospect. Played some very impressed stuff.

Good to see there is life in the accademy.

Good run out for the young lads ,in the first half Mane looked quick enough to catch pigeons and Brannagan's use of the ball was intelligent and incisive. Ilori looked composed throughout the little he had to do ,and Flanagan ran the flanks well. The second half was a completely different story ,although with a well taken goal from Ings ,most impressive player was Chirivella  young Woodburn and Arnold. I thought our best passages of play came about when Markovic was threading balls through
for the runners. All in all a slow but measured exercise for the players to gain fitness.
