Ings looks like he might be an excellent plan b if Benteke and Sturridge are having the day off.
Assuming Benteke signs up without issue of course. Still waiting on the official word for that deal.

2.0 is a good result to end that leg of the tour.
That side didn't really look to get at us and score and we had long spells of looking very comfortable but average. Very little creativity and far too much reliance on regimental movement and passing.
We had very little width also and serious lack of support coming in behind the striker. These need to be addressed.
Great energy from milner throughout. Its also good to hear him being vocal and not afraid to encourage a player to go the extra yard. A bit of fortune for the goal as he was offside but he did well to get there and finish it. Nice composed finish from Ings also but for me himself and Origi are bench warmers.
On to Kuala Lumpur next I think and then home at the weekend where they will link up with the likes of Cout's, Can, Firmino and Benteke who are due back to melwood on wednesday.

Out of the new boys, I've been impressed with Milner and Joe Gomez the most. Especially excited about Gomez, still preseason I know but looks like a steal for the money we paid. Don't like it that we're playing him out of position though.

Gomez looks bright....Origi looks woeful. I'm also not sure Ings adds anything over our current crop of strikers. But it's early yet....too early to say he will or won't make it.

Agree with the other comments, Gomez and Milner both looked really good, Origi missing many chances and making a lot of silly fouls.
Of the established players Lallana has looked really good, scored a belter in one of the matches and had a good shot saved against Adelaide as well
