How the f*ck is it when the ball hit Sterling in the hand, which is in  a completely natural position, it's a penalty shout. But when it's against Blackburn with his hand fully stretched out, not in a natural position, and blocks the ball from a shot on target, oh there's nothing he could do about it. Bit of a double standard.

Yeah, commentators are like that. Ref got both right though IMO.

Any of you guys at the match with a sniper rifle?
If so, please take Gestede out. He's a bloody nuisance and will get through sooner or later.

Meh, disjointed, patchy performance so far. No awareness or fluidity at all.

Is Moreno carrying a knock? Joe Allen injured? If not, I'd consider Moreno for Markovic to let Sterling get up the field a bit more and to try and bring Sturridge into the game a bit more.

Poor half from us. Hope the team come out fired up for the second half, I want to see us at Wembley. Still time for a couple of goals and a comfortable win.

Coutinho and LAllana no where to be seen,Sterling not getting enough balls ,pretty average altogether. This trio of cb is making me very nervous

Johnson and lovren have been shocking, and we keep giving the ball away very cheaply. They're getting everybody behind the ball, then countering, and they look as likely to score as we do.

We need to change something or this game could get ugly, and we don't need another replay.

Jeez, I hope we can make more of an impression in the second half, with ManUre and the Gunners coming up in the next while, we need our confidence as high as possible. Being held, and seriously threatened by a mid-table championship side isn't gonna be good for their heads.

I don't understand why Johnson was brought in when you have Toure and Sakho available

Agreed, one of the reasons for our renaissance was that this 3-4-2-1 formation allowed us to get two ball playing CB's into our back line (Can & Sakho). The problem today is that every player in our back 3 has a mistake in them.
I don't think our pressing game is working that well either, there's only Henderson and Markovic who seem to be closing down with any enthusiasm, Sterling for instance is just letting them run off him all the time, more than once we've been short handed on his flank.
I don't think the injury to Skrtel helped, we've looked subdued since that happened.

Every single opportunity they've had has come from us giving the ball away cheaply. They aren't doing anything incredible from an offensive stand point, they just keep getting the ball in really good positions due to poor decisions and poor passes from us.

And that was a nasty challenge, and the ref wasn't even going to call it until he saw Can in pain on the ground.
