Tough, tough game, but we've scored a huge result today.

Next stop in the league, Man City. If we get a result there then we'll be in a shout for 3rd

Probably not the right lineup from the start, played poorly, but we got the result in the end and that's all that matters.

Very important win for us, let's move on.

excellent result, especially in light of west ham and spurs drawing. and for all those typically criticising the players - again - you may have noticed that conditions were fecking atrocious. would love to see some of you experts get your passing game on in weather like that.

apparently its the first time we've had 5 successive clean sheets away from home for 30 years. but i doubt that'll concern those of you that get a kick out of carping on about the defence every 2 minutes.

enjoy the win. enjoy the football.

Told you guys, just chill, we had this one in the bag from the start :D

Jokes aside, are we Man Utd in disguise? What a scrappy win and yet we still won by 2 goals and kept a clean sheet :D. Not that it matter though, all that matters in these games is the win.

Defended well and got the 3 points and clean sheet. Skrtel was MOM for me closely followed by Coutinho; both mainly for the defensive performances they put in.

Luck was on our side tonight, and things went our way. Let's be thankful it wasn't the other way around (it often feels it is), and accept the fact that we got 3 points we probably didn't deserve. That's how united have continued winning the title year after year- decisions going their way and getting lucky even when  they didn't deserve the points.

re. My point about the rubbish passing, Andy...... I acknowledged the dreadful conditions, but somehow The Saints seemed to be able to pass the ball with much better accuracy, regardless of the weather.
And you're right, I couldn't have passed the ball in that weather either, but then I'm not a professional footballer being played hundreds of thousands of pounds a week to kick a ball to someone wearing the same clothes as me.
Anyway, delighted with the win. Citeh will be tough, but here's hoping lads!

Wasn't a great performance and Southampton can feel a bit hard done by by one or two refereeing decisions but going away to tough places and eeking out results is what top sides do. United under ferguson were famous for it.
It's been a grind over the Christmas/New Year period to try and get ourselves back in the mix but we've finally achieved it, we are now only 2 points off Manchester United and right in contention for a top 4 place.

3points, clean sheet, 25M swimming badge earned :)

Atrocious weather today........in years gone past our "flair" players would have bottled this game.

But onwards and upwards, well battled tbh.

3 points from 3rd place..............
