Good first half especially considering the side we put out, we was 3-0 down at HT at anfield,

MArkovic has played well he is very quick he needs the confidence to shoot he always looks to pass or turn back.

Can has been fantastic  and Mignolet has made a few worldie saves

We've played alright, but not a single shot at goal.......we need to win here, and stop worrying about Chelski

Hell, had we a better attack we might have given them a game.

We looked ok at times, but of course our play is always littered with errors. Both fullbacks have looked lively. Can has been steady enough and is possibly the reason we look a bit more dynamic today. Even Lucas has showed some invention.
No one seems to want to shoot, like they're afraid of missing, but Llana and Borini could be interesting. I think the aim in the first half was to have one drop off and receive the ball whilst the other slip behind the back line. Almost happened once or twice but we mess around a lot in the build up and usually lose the ball.
We're still in it anyway.

Playing a second string against the worlds best club side in their own backyard. Losing 1-0 isn't that bad.

Those who are annoyed we are losing need a reality check. Anything more than a defeat tonight is a miracle, regardless of the side Rodgers fielded. We aren't a top tier side anymore, our squad proves that. Last years squad proves that, even with Suarez.

After last season we were happy to be back in the CL full stop. Expectations should increase steady after a few seasons, not the expectation we be beating the best.

The first year we made CL under Houllier, the general expectation wasn't anything more that CL participation. After so many years of deterioration after Benitez under the H&G era - we have gone back to basically the same Houllier level (maybe a little higher). The quicker we accept the building process takes time the easier your hearts will be.

Lucas and Can have looked pretty solid ,and especially Can who wouldn't look out of place in this Madrid team ,and some quite superb crosses from Moreno ,Lallana
needs to get involved more though.... Can reminds me of Didi

A good post.

But sometimes you spend ages building something only to realise you got the foundations wrong. I hope that's not the case. Certainly some players such as Moreno, Can, Manquillo, Sterling and Orini look to have good futures. But a few old heads are always a good idea and maybe we lack that a bit.
