Hopefully we can take some momentum from last night's Swansea victory into this match, my dilemma is should we start with Lallana or Coutinho but i think Coutinho would just about edge it for me

Was thinking something like this below...

-------------------------Balotelli
         Sterling                                      Borini

                               Coutinho
               Gerrard                       Hendo

Moreno       Lovren             Skrtel       Manquillo

                               Migs

I think thats how we should line up  (the front 3 should interchange like the front 3 did last season) Coutinho is wasted wide and Sterling is more effective wider.

But i think Allen will play instead of Borini (because its away), Sterling on the right Coutinho on the left and Mario upfront. Struggle to break them down untill he puts 2 strikers on about 75 mins, then we'll win 2-1.

Heard it here 1st.

I hate to be picky but we play Newcastle away, not at home.

I'd go with -

                                Mingolet

Manquillo          Toure           Lovren             Moreno

                                  Lucas

            Henderson                       Lallana

                                Coutinho

                      Sterling           Balotelli

I think the likes of Toure, Lucas and in particular Coutinho did enough last night to justify a place in the starting XI. Won't happen of course.

This lot just did Spurs away and came back from behind, they'll be pretty confident. Then again, in front of a home crowd where the pressure is on, hopefully they'll choke.

Must win. Whatever happens we must surely play two upfront.

                          Mignolet

Manquillo     Skrtel     Lovren     Johnson

               Gerrard     Henderson

Sterling             Coutinho            Lallana

                         Balotelli

With an emphasis to go for the throat early. Up to the first Madrid goal we looked effective playing aggressively and high up.

Last night we sprung into action going one down and committing men forward, the old "best form of defence is attack".

Over the years we have done well against Newcastle, attacking teams willing to gamble suit our counterattacking style.

I would have advocated two up top but in this instance I think a fast counter attacking midfield, with wide players delivering crosses, would work well.

I'd stick with Toure at the back as he played rather well against Swansea and bring in Enrique, with Moreno on the bench.

                     Mignolet

Manquillo     Skrtel     Toure     Enrique

               Gerrard     Henderson/Can

Sterling             Coutinho            Lallana/Markovic

                         Balotelli

They were denied a clear pen as well! Thats now Spurs and City they've beaten in the last few days.

We usually batter them away,or they batter us. This ain't going to be a easy game as Newcastle,s recent form has been quite impressive. But as the eternal optimistic I,'ll go for a 1-0 win Sterling

They beat both Spurs and City away from home too which takes some doing. We looked much more like our old selves midweek though so I'm confident we'll give them a game.
