Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!

FA Cup weekend in sunny Bournemouth by the sea. It's a simple game plan,  go there - play football - score more than them - come home.

This is what I'd go for:

                                Jones

           Kelly       Toure      Skrtel      Flanagan

                       Gerrard      Allen

                               Alberto

           Sterling                               Coutinho

                                Aspas

Seems as Brendan said in his pre Bournemouth press conference that we aren't bringing in any fullbacks I'd like to see us recall that McLaughlin from his loan spell at Barnsley.
Both Robinson and Flanagan were thrown in at the deep end and I think McLaughlin has more natural ability than both of them, I saw a clip of his debut for Barnsley and he looked very dynamic and skillful, he was going past players like he was a winger never mind a fullback.
With a huge derby game on Tuesday I'd expect to see quite a lot of changes.

This is a tricky game and definitely a banana skin.

These are in the championship and not really close to relegation so they must be a steady side.

I am a bit worried about this. If we rest players I think it would be a mistake.

I know the derby is only a couple of days away but I would look to play a strong side (Suarez included) and try and start fast and get the game won. Then if it goes to plan bring the key players off on about 70.

I was also wondering why we haven't given young McLaughlin a chance (mentioned it in another thread some time ago) considering our situation with the fullbacks. I was especially puzzled when we played Chelsea and brought that kid whatever his name was instead of McLaughlin. Ryan definitely deserved a chance, only Rodgers knows why he hasn't given it to him.

Anyway, I don't think we will recall him from his loan. He only went there a few weeks ago.

If we rotate too much, and I suspect we will, then there is a real possibility we will lose this match.

I watch a lot of lower league football and Bournemouth are no mugs to beat a decent Burton by that score in the last round.

Appreciate we are a top Premiership team at this point but our level drops significantly outside the first 11.

Thing is our goal is 4th in the league and cup success is no guarantee for Rodgers, and Dalglish is testimony to that.

I believe BR will use mostly 2nd string players as he need our best players for the derby. Bournemouth will play like as if their lives depend on it and I'll be expecting a close game.

I don't think BR has any choice but to play his BEST players for today's match. Considering the window to Europe football goes through this competition and considering that with no new players coming this January ,it's hard to imagine we can get a CL spot ,let's keep European football open through the cup.

Good Lucks lads.

Only 15 players to choose from. Today will not be easy.

With Tuesday in mind we have to play some kids. With Allen and Lucas out it seems we have to play Gerrard and Henderson.

                 Jones

Flanagan   Toure  Skrtel   Smith

       Gerrard        Henderson

               Alberto

   Aspas     Sturridge      Ibe

I think he might start Suarez as well, but what formation that leads to, I have no idea, and the trouble us I think that BR has the same problem.

Twitter rumours that Kelly starts at RB, Allen not travelled and SAS start.
