Well here's something to take our minds off the Suarez debacle. Hope we carry on our winning streak. We seem to play these every pre-season. Is the game being televised? Does anyone know. Am going for a 3-0 win

Valerenga are 7th in the league , won 7, lost 7 and 4 draws - unbeaten in last 6 games.

Henderson captain. That's good stuff, I feared he might be in the same bucket as Downing.

Anyway, obviously Valerenga have done their homework. High pressure, leaving no space... it's going to be an interesting game.

Although we're in the lead, I hope this first half doesn't sum up our new season; Goalie in top form/ball hitting the bar, bad referee decisions and conceding goals from set pieces. I really hoped we could finish preseason without conceding a goal, it would have gave the lads a big moral boost.

Anyway, I've been really impressed by Alberto so far this preseason. Great movement on the ball, good vision and good passing, considering his age of course. I can see why Rodgers wanted him so much and he really might be an improvement to Shelvey.

2-1 to us - Alberto with a smart finish and Aspas with a tap in - conceded from a set piece. Missing lots of opportunities at the moment. Alberto playing well as are the two wide guys Ibe and Downing , Aspas getting into a lot of good positions, missing a number of chances though

To put my fears about Toure into pictures then that chance then is a perfect example and his general defending tonight.

Another comfortable win for the reds ,with a quite precocious goal from Alberto (this kid is really good regardless of where he came from)
It could have been 8, albeit from some inspired goalkeeping from Valerenga's  keeper ,Rodgers played near enough a completely different
team in the second half and we still looked relatively comfortable. Aspas scored again ,and always gets into goalscoring positions ,and
Coutinho's footwork dazzled us again.

Bring on the hoops

First half for me was a lot better than the second, the movement, passing and fluidity caused Valerenga quite a few problems.

Aspas's goal was taken well, the movement for that was similar to Rush's movement inside the box in his heyday. He had numerous chances and so long as he keeps getting in those positions he'll be sure to get goals.

Coates looks very sluggish to me, don't know why that is but I can see why Rodger's isn't too comfortable in picking him more regularly, he makes Wisdom look comparatively experienced alongside him - Wisdom was solid, Toure looked composed too.

Alberto looks okay, not sure where or how much he'll feature this season as the rough n tumble of the prem could find him out. But his goal was brilliantly taken never the less.

Borini needs a break i.e goal or two, he's a worker and a runner just needs some luck now.
