Had to be coming, and from him of course.  Carra can't keep up with this guy, not that it was his fault but we just aren't doing what we need to do on defense.  Hopefully this will wake us the f*ck up because we're playing like absolute Sh*t right now.

Unfortunately we don't really win when we get scored on first.

Looking toothless going forward I'm afraid.

We're going too fast.  Everytime we get the ball we act like we'll only score on a fast break.  We need to calm down, especially Suarez, and we can settle our boys down.  That's what happened on their goal, we tried to just full-speed sprint and got caught out of position because all our defenders and mids were playing catch-up.

Benteke is as bad as Bale when it comes to going over... Any slight touch and he's down, and he's gotten every single call he's asked for today.  Took us until the 42nd minute to get our first foul and he'd already had 3 or 4 called for him.

Can't get any consistency with this guys...jeez.
Carra isn't a solution for premier league football ,why aren't we trying any of the youngsters as a CB ,Wisdom for example?
Lucas is also having a rather poor half so far.

Attack looks to score but Suarez is one egoistic *****. Like the way Coutinho settled in looks pretty comfortable. Sturridge anybody?

Suarez lacking his usual sharpness today, just doesn't seem to be on his game.

Been a pretty even game that.  Villa slightly lucky to be leading at HT although Agbonlahor should really have scored too for them.  We've had chances too though.

This game has highlighted exactly where we need to improve next season...

1) The middle of the park.  We are failing to dominate Villa's central midfield of three children.  Lucas is having a 'mare today.  For me he's not been the same player since his injuries and with Gerrard ageing and Allen unconvincing this season we really need to add someone in the summer.

2) Hardly surprising we concede from a straight long ball through the middle.  Carra can't deal with Benteke, but it's not just this game we've struggled against this sort of player/tactic.  We need a centre half who can win headers.

Not a good 45 from us to be fair. We had them on the ropes for the first 10 to 15 minutes but didn't take advantage of it and after that we just sort of backed right off. We have been defensively poor especially in the air and they look like they will get the better of us every time they put an aerial ball in. Midfield had control of the game in the first quarter of an hour but have offered very little support going forward or backwards since.

Coutinho has looked very spritely though causing Villa real problems down the left at times and has linked quite well with Suarez.

What a f*cking ball from Coutinho... What a f*cking ball! Class finish from Hendo, and that's why both of these boys should start every week.
