Tottenham Hotspur V Liverpool 28/11/12 7:45pm

Second away game in 3 days.  Although I'm more confident about this one than the Swansea fixture.

Last year saw us at an all time low losing 4-0 and getting outplayed for the majority of the game.

We currently sit 4 points behind Tottenham so a win on Wednesday would do great for our chances of a top 4 place.

We currently are unbeaten in 8 games in all competitions and the team seems more gelled and more confident with the ball. Although as we saw on Sunday our firepower is still very weak.

Saying that our defence is looking stronger as the games go on.

Enrique looks good in a more advanced role so im hoping he keeps it up.  I think atleast 3 Changes to the side who drew on the weekend.

Tottenham are very slick and skillful with the likes of Bale Defoe Lennon ETC but are also very very weak.

Bring wisdom back in at RB and move Johnson over to Left back.

I would bring in Sahin and Assaidi and take out Henderson and Downing.  I woukld give Little Raheem a rest here and chuck him on the bench.

I would like to see us line up like

                    Reina
Wisdom   Skrtel   Agger   Johnson

                Allen    Sahin

                   Gerrard
Assaidi                            Enrique
                     Suarez

I will back us to atleast get a draw and pendingo n the performance of Gerrard maybe get a win

0-1 Liverpool

I can see Suso and Sahin both starting after being rested.  Sterling and Suarez both need a rest too but I don't think they'll get one.

I don't fancy this one, which normally means we'll stroll to a victory.  Assuming Wisdom is fit, I'd play him at RB although I am concerned about Bale skinning him.  I would prefer Johnson's experience at RB, but ironically he is our best left back too!

                 Reina

Wisdom  Agger Skertl   Johnson

     Gerrard    Allen   Sahin

     Sterling   Suarez   Suso

Spurs 1 - Liverpool 2

Suarez and Suso

Reina

Johnson Agger Skrtel   Enrique

     Shelvey    Allen   Sahin

     Sterling   Suarez   Gerrard

For the love of God, the time has surely come to play Gerrard in a more attacking role. He's scored 20 goals in a single season before, not to mention his countless assists. We need goals.

We also need full backs in the full back positions to deal with Bale et al.

Actually, I can't imagine Enrique not playing after his recent run so maybe.....

                   Reina

Wisdom  Agger Skertl   Johnson

     Gerrard    Allen   Sahin

    Suso   Suarez   Enrique

and Sterling gets a rest......

If BR means Biz and not typical English manager Smarta$$ shenanigans then play Shelvy and Assaidi they deserve the first team shirt.

We need to forget about playing Downing left back after his display at Swansea.  He was useless and we were lucky he didn't cost us a few goals.  Lennon would rip him a new one if he's playing against him tomorrow,or even worse Bale as they tend to swap flanks a lot.

Gerrard played over an hour against Young Boys and the whole game against Swansea.  I wouldn't start him v Spurs.

I agree that Shelvey deserves a start and possibly Assaidi - he's looked good in Europe but Rodgers hasn't given him a chance in the league team.  But I'd be tempted to go 3 at the back away to Spurs and that means probably no room for him.

Reina

Skrtel
Carra
Agger

Johnson
Enrique

Allen
Shelvey
Suso

Sterling
Suarez

we need 3 points here and anything less will only add to the disappointment.

                                                                reina.
johnson                      skyrtel                                   agger               enrique

                                                    allen              lucas

            gerrard                                      suso                            sterling

                                                            suarez.

if lucas isnt ready for a start then id play sahin instead of him. its time to move gerrard into a more attacking role where he can be an influence.
1.0 and luis to score will do nicely :nod

I worry about Bale' speed down the side.  We need somebody very quick to play on the right to help out, especially if we have Wisdom in at RB- he's not the quickest of players.

We never beat spurs, they almost always beat us.  I won't be surprised to see a Bale dive for a pen or a red card because he seems to do that against us a lot.

In honesty I'm hoping for a draw here.  A win would be fantastic, but I think for this fixture a draw is really the most we can ask.

Win would be fantastic but would gladly take a draw.

December looks like a good opportunity to pick up some points

Can't see a 3-5-2 or a 4-2-3-1 as has been suggested above.

It's 4-3-3 all the way.

I have major reservations about playing Wisdom in this one. He's lost his way a wee bit since the derby and another skinning by another pacy winger in Bale will do him nor us any good, this one definitely calls for the pace of Johnson at RB.

Johnson is $hitty defender with a questionable approach to the game ,would really like to see him shipped this coming summer. Would rather trust an up and coming youngster then a spoiled under achiever.
