It says to the reserves we had already used all our subs?

Sorry, I was being dumb.

This club is going nowhere from what I have seen over the last few months, we narrowly scrape a victory in the Carling Cup final and everything is rosey in the garden of Eden. Our best chance to spend a lot of money and bring in some much needed quality has been wasted. Pepe Reina has been here nearly seven years, he's in his late twenties, he's good enough to be at a club that regularly challenges and wins trophies, so he owes it to himself to be at a club that is doing just those things. If Liverpool aren't (which we aren't) then I have no problem with him going to a club that does.

Completely agree, dunno what Rafa had to do with the last statement though. And judging on Reina this season, hes not all that anymore, his heart is not in it, so hes gone. simple

do they still have a better season than us considering we won 2 trophies?

For them yes, for us no.

We are supposed to be in a different league.

They might even attract a couple of quality players to make them better next season and challenge for CL spot.

We can only hope next season will be nothing short of a miracle.

Winning cups is a big deal, but when you're not challenging for the big cups and titles when you are expected to, that's the disappointment.

agree...Reina hasn't looked that interested for a while now and he only stayed because he thought we'd turned a corner.  He'll be off....probably to Arsenal or somewhere  :(

Gone to a top club challenging for the CL, for sure.

Well, right players with right attitude still needs money... unless all our reserve players suddenly become good...

But we're a laughing stock already, spending money left right and centre, its embarressing, obviously more money isnt the answer unless we have the right structure in place

I don't blame Reina for being angry. He wants to win matches, he wants to win titles, he's a superb goalkeeper (no matter what you say) and he is good enough to be at a club that is challenging and winning trophies. He's won two trophies in the 6 1/3 years he's been here. That's probably not good enough for him and it's certainly not good enough for us. I think he owes it to himself at the end of the season to hand in a transfer request and if he does just that I for one will not have animosity towards him for doing so. Providing he doesn't do a Torres and leave at the end of the transfer window.

There is only so much you can defend as a supporter before you find yourself unable to defend what you're defending anymore. I want Kenny to stay, I want our signings to all become superb players for our club, but what this club has witnessed over the last few months is terrible, it's as bad as the Hodgson tenure - it's getting worse, not better and I find myself increasingly unable to defend the players and the management. As much as I want Kenny to remain our manager, bring in new players with more quality in the summer. I don't feel his managerial reign is tenable anymore and I feel that is probably what FSG feel and so it won't surprise me if Kenny is removed at the end of the season and if he is then I hope Damien Comolli is sent packing as well.
