Will Steven Gerrard score his 150th Liverpool goal against Stoke?

Stoke and Liverpool have played each other 6 times in the FA Cup, with the latter winning 4 and drawing 2. The last occasion the teams met in this competition was in 1988 when Liverpool won a third round replay on this ground thanks to a Peter Beardsley goal. That was the year we lost in the Final to Wimbledon.

The last time we progressed this far in this competition in 2006, we went on to win it.

Liverpool has not lost to Stoke at Anfield since 1959. Liverpool have won all four previous FA Cup ties between the clubs with the tie being decided at Anfield each time. Stoke have never beaten Liverpool in 11 previous meetings in FA Cup and League Cup - losing eight and drawing three. In those clashes they have scored six and conceded 23.

The sides are meeting for the fourth time this season.
Stoke 1-0 Liverpool [League]
Liverpool 0-0 Stoke [League]
Stoke 1-2 Liverpool [League Cup]

Liverpool could eliminate two teams from the League Cup and FA Cup this season - Brighton being the other one - after only achieving the feat once before in their history (Burnley 1994-95).

nowing our form, we'll lose 2-0...but an hopeful that we could turn a corner with Gerrard back to his best.

Realistically we'll be lucky to get a tediously poor 1-0 victory if we're lucky. Lets hope we do.

I actually think we'll up our game for this one, I think we'll win it... damn, I hate it when I have a good feeling about us winning cause we always lose when I do.

It was a simple question and one you took um-bridge with for no reason.

As for "racist" threads, if you don't like diverse views (as the tenor of your post suggests), I suggest you fu.ck off and try and find a mono-
cultural forum, or failing that go and seek out Patrice Evra and have a little whinge together about it.

BTW, I wasn't thanking you for starting this thread - don't make that assumption, I asked a simple question because you were 'trying' to big-note yourself in the other thread.

On paper, we should win but teams like Stoke will be here to play defensive football and try to steal a win like Arsenal. Hope we won't let them but they could win it because we just don't have any lethal finishers upfront. Skrtel and Stevie G combined I think have scored more goals than our frontmen.

if Kenny sets the team out like the last time we had them then its going to be just as hard.
If we keep Steve deep its going to be just as hard.

yes its going to be a hard game lol

2-1

stoke are a bit of a bogey team for us, and we rarely play well against them. hopefully being a cup game they won't sit back too much and play defensively, and hopefully we can set ourselves out as we did for the derby. i'll go for the win but i don't expect it to be all that pretty or exciting.

and andy carroll will score.

I'm not sure how we'll go today. Stoke aren't a big team, so we'll probably play rubbish, without any pace or urgency. On the other hand, win this and we are back to Wembly - hopefully the players have got a hunger for another visit, and will actually turn up today.

Nevertheless, I'd feel rather more confident if we were playing Man U, Man City, Arsenal or Chelsea, than the likes of Stoke.
