The timing of this game works out quite well. With Johnson, Aurelio and Agger returning to full training it gives us a chance to give them 45 minutes each. I expect we’ll use this game as a warm up for the carling cup game against Stoke one week later.

Wouldn't be bad if we game Gerrard a few minutes as well. Spearing, Suso, Coady, Flanagan, Robinson, Wilson and maybe Sterling and Ngoo/Morgan should also get a chance.

Very strange time for a friendly but hopefully it will be a good exercise for the likes of Johnson, Coates, Aurelio. Id also play Carroll and Hendo for confidence. And some of the young lads like Suso

Would have liked it if Gerrard got a little time and a few youngsters like Coady and Sterling but this is ok as well.
Anyway, why do we always play Wilson as a LB? He's a CB FFS.
