Good win with a decent performance against weakened opposition.  Yet again it was an interesting team selection with 2 down the middle away from home but the sending off balanced things a little.

Overall, we got the 3 points and thats all that mattered but we need to improve against ManUtd or we'll struggle to get anything out of the game.

You kidding? I could probably count at least 3 occasions mate. He was sloppy today but the sloppiness was less visible once Gerrard and Bellamy came on.

The only real negative for me was Downing. He started the season quite brightly but seems to be just a passenger now. Bellamy was great when he came on.

Downing needs to pick his game up, did not look strong on the ball today.
we look a hard side to beat once Gerrard and Bellamy come on.
I think you can start to see where kenny is going with with this team in a few weeks if none of our players get hurt in the next week.

Never a red. Definite penalty. Typical derby in terms of the absence of any finesse or fluidity. Winning not performance is all that matters in these games.

Lucas was better than Adam and did well. Carroll is sharpening up and the goal can only boost his confidence.

I'm very happy for Andy, I am rooting for the lad so much I was hoping he wouldn't be taken off and was happy to see that he wasn't.  Love Luis for all his hard work, even when things aren't going for him he never gives up and ends up scoring one off a mistake by their defense.  Lucas>Adam, Enrique fantastic again he may not be world class or anything but he's consistent as :censored:.  We weren't good at all imo, but job done and I'm as happy as I could be after a derby. :D

1 comment, subs were made - Gerrard and Bellamy, leaving an attacking front line of Bellamy, Kuyt, Carroll and Suarez with Gerrard right behind them.....who's complaining here?

This time last year our one option was to add N'gog up front.....good times  :D
