maybe so but the idea that we need a centre back an a left back isn't exactly calmed by these errors

I agree with the sentiment tho

Miereles didn't figure at all, anyone else think Shelvey is never going to be good enough?

Post of the day from Rawk!  :D

WHAT THE BLOODY HELL WAS THAT!

BACK FOUR SHOULD BE SHOT, SHOT! DON'T THEY KNOW THE BASICS?

ALWAYS SAID KENNY WAS THE WRONG MAN, AND I'VE BEEN PROVED RIGHT. HOW CAN A BUNCH OF JAPANESE AMATEURS SCORE THREE GOALS PAST US?

I thought some people on here were bad at times :D

I have to admit I'm wondering what all the fuss is about Shelvey.

Ya but that was his first real productive pass of the match to be honest.  I believe he can have a future here, but not if he stays for the next couple season.  We need to loan him out for a couple years.  Try to keep him at a lower-level prem club like Swansea or QPR so he can get some experience, or maybe even a top-level championship squad.  Him and Spearing both.

Wasn't impressed with Shelvey at all today.  You can see he's got the potential, but it just wasn't happening today.

What we should be arguing about is the new look for Andy, does the beard look suit him?

No he looks worse than Giggs, which is saying something.

Took the kids, they really enjoyed it. Their first ever Liverpool game. My son was singing and yelling right to the end. Proud dad, I can tell you!

Disappointing numbers, the stadium was only a little over half full to my eyes, but the ones there were actually pretty good. Plenty of noise throughout.

As far as the game was concerned, obviously it was only the first game of preseason, but here are my thoughts:

Shelvey really would benefit from being loaned out for a season. Neither he or Spearing really impressed themselves on the centre of the pitch like the senior players did. They played OK, but Shelvey especially needs games.

On that note, Adam does add a different dimension to our play - not all of his passes came off, but he splays them around in a way no one else on the team does.

I didn't realise how big Aquilani actually is. Shame he is such a girl, cos he has the bulk to be more imposing than he is.

Joe Cole still isn't fit, or else he just naturally puts his hands on his hips every chance he gets.

Kyriagkos is worse than I thought he was. He might be useful against the Stokes of the world, but not my first choice against the Sunray Caves.

I'll look at getting some photos up soon. Unfortunately my kids stole the camera and most of them are rubbish...
