Well the last game of 2010 is upon us and while this year has had some ups (bye bye Hicks & Gillette) its had a hell of a lot of downs too (awful football, away games, home games featuring Reading, Blackpool and Northampton, Roy Hodgson) so hopefully the Reds can send us into 2011 in a style, by giving Wolves such a hiding there will be a high likelyhood some of the lads will be reported to the RSPCA.
Gerrard will be set for a return, so we're going to see what kind of authority our Roy actually wields from his position when he introduces him back to a midfield that has looked pretty promising in the captains absence. My gut tells me we're back to the 4231 that usually works well with Stevie off Torres, when not played like a 4411 at least and Im fully confident that against a Wolverhampton side that look destined for the drop a few of our misfiring players have the opportunity to get in some much needed target practice, bang in a few goals and set themselves up for positive approach to the new year.

I cant even remember what our current form is like its being that long since we played! we should easily win this though and hopefully Torres can grab a few goals. we badly need that just as much as the points for 2011.

After the 10 week layoff there should be no excuse for the Hodgson and the redmen, nothing less then a 3-0 win will do.

Our players our all rested. Its pretty much a full strength squad now. Wolves have only gained 1 point away from home all season. Gerrard is back.
3 points. Anything less and Roy has no excuses.

Three points and at least a couple of goals (without receiving any) should really be possible in this game. Hopefully Agger is back instead of Skrtel (I very much doubt it though) and hopefully Torres will finally start banging them in now that Stevie is back. I'm gonna go with the flow and expect a 3-0 win.

Would like to see Aurelio displace Konchesky at leftback. I also think we should keep the Lucus and Meireles partnership together and bring Gerrard in on the right. Tempted to drop Skrtel for the big Greek but one thing the Slovakian does have over the other two is a bit of pace so I would give him the nod.
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Aurelio
Gerrard Lucas Meireles Maxi
Torres Ngog
Subs: Kuyt, Babel, Cole, Poulsen, Kelly, Kyrgiakos, Jones
