Liverpool Vs Sunderland
Saturday 15:00
I have never done a match thread before so hopefully I can be a lucky charm.
This is a must this and anything but will surely get the band wagons wheels into action. This potentially is a banana skin and Sunderland usually put up a good fight against us.
It's a game that we need to win to give us confidence to pick up more points to move up the table. But It must also be a good win with good flowing football, something I haven't seen in ages,
So come on reds we need this!!!

Totally agree Rob, vital game for us this, could really get the wheels turning for a much kinder run of games. Hopefully this is where we get some momentum from

Are my eyes deceiving me? A Saturday 3PM kick-off? Surely that's a good omen.

Our season starts here...
A good run of matches and we should be able to get a few points on the board. The doom and gllomers will keep tellin you we are in 16th and we are certs to get relegated but the reality is that we are three points from fourth. If we beat Sunderland and City lose to Chelsea then we are on the same points as them and they are supposedly certs for CL qualification this season.
Big guns are back for this one and although Sunderland are playing well Id still expext us to win.
2-0. Cole and Torres.

I want a siege mentality here, camped in their half and playing with an unrelenting tempo, Id go with the same team that played Utd only pushed 20yds further up the pitch. 4-0 And a proper answer for those questioning the credentials of our great club. Suck that Bruce you ugly manc c*nt!

Team I would have:
Reina
Johnson Carra Agger Konchesky
Gerrard Poulsen
Cole Meireles Jovanovic
Torres
If Kuyt is back then stick him wide right and cole on the left.

At this rate mate I'm going to stop posting and just give you the old after I've quoted your posts. Sorry if you find the fact that I agree with you so much a bit worrying .

I dont fancy Miereles in the hole. I'd swap him and Gerrard and be happy with that
also agree with you about Dirk as well

Beach ball free zone and convincing win to kickstart the season again will do me fine

This is the strongest team which we can put out. go 4-3-3.
Reina
Johonson Carra Agger Konchesky
Poulson
Gerrard Meireles
Cole Ngog Jovanovic
yeah.......i think Torres needs a kick up his ar$e. Ang Ngog is scoring in almost ever game he starts (although his general play is not that good). So give him a game up top with 2 other strike partners.

Torres must start at all costs. If he doesn't then straight away Sunderland have a psychological edge.

Well one of the issues i had with benitez was that he didn't always pick players who were on form or getting there (Keane, Cisse, Babel, Benayoun, crouch.....etc).
Ngog is one of our few players currently on some type of form. He keeps finding the net most of the time he starts this season. And with gerrard and cole behind him....he will get more than his fair share of chances.
Torres should only get back into the team if he proves his worth this season.
