Exactly mate - knonw one knows but the mods and the posters themsleves - everything else is just rumour or adding 2 and 2 and coming up with 5 - we have no idea what could be going on behind the scenes

Benny, if you able to read as well as you write then you should be able to work out why certain people have been banned, its been pretty transparent.

I think Lando has gone overboard and should be banned. His words/posts are mostly insult and meant to cause trouble. Like most posters said, he should be banned before them.

Really?? well please enlighten me, send me a pm if that is easier because it sure as hell isn't transparent to me.

You know damned well that if I abused people in the same way as certain others do then I would have been permanently banned a long long time ago, not that I am in any way advocating that anybody should be banned but in my perception, and I think that of many others, there is a very clear bias against the anti's.

Owzat can you maybe give us some stats on it please?  :D

Benny The Noon wrote:Worse than souness days ?!?!? do you mean the days when we were regulary in the bottom half of the table and finishing no higher than 6 th i think and even as low as 13th at one stage - yes its a disapointing season but lets not go overboard .

Benny - Yes worse than the Souness days!

Souness inherited an incredibly difficult situation. Benitez inherited a team from Houllier that went onto making a massive contribution towards winning the CL. Seven of Houllier's team played in the final!

I know our league positions were poorer under Souness but just look at what Benitez has spent. His spending over the last 4/5 years is as much as anybody except Chelsea. That massive amount of spending will inevitably buy you a few league positions. What we are staring in the face is 4 years without a trophy and the very strong possibility that we won't qualify for the Champions League. So forgive me if I am not impressed with Benitez finishing a few places higher in the league than Souness!

Souness spent a remarkable amount of money at that current time - who remembers Paul Stewart for 2 mil which at the time was a lot of money - Souness also took over a club that narrowly missed out on the title and got rid of a lot of players that helped win many trophies - We actually went down to 17th at one stage in his first season and never got above 6th .

GH team finished 30 odd points behind the title winners

Souness inherited a very ageing and disgruntled squad. Souness spent less that £9m on players (£18m bought and £9m sold). Evans then followed that during his term by spending £28m (£43m bought and £15m sold). Souness did at least quite quickly win the FA Cup. Evans managed to win just one trophy - the League Cup in 1995. Based on that information ignoring league positions it would be difficult to argue that Souness was not the better manager.

Now to Benitez. Average net spend per year between 2005 to 2009 has been close to £20m and if you honestly think apart from about 4 players that what Benitez is leaving behind is significantly better than Souness then we will have to agree to differ. Just what is coming through from the academy? What low price players has he bought that we could sell for a significant profit? How profitable is the club which I know is clearly not just down to Benitez but his actions have a meaningful bearing? When was the last time he won a trophy? What is the media general perception of him - clown or brilliant tactician?

I am really sorry Benny to be so negative about Benitez but he is helping to wreck the club that I have supported for over 50 years and we desperately need a change. Benitez has not got the ability or skills required to turn this mess around. Any so-called top flight manager that has to rely on Ngog as a replacement for Torres when he is injured which seems to be more often than not is perhaps not the brilliant tactician that some have suggested!

Dont forget player price inflation what was the average cost of a top player 15 years ago compared to now? Take that into account and Rafa is not overspending. Evans and Houllier were blessed with a number of gifted players coming through the academy for which we didnt have to shell out etc.. Its always difficult to compare spending patterns however since Rafa took over, the academy hasnt produced a single significant first teamer, which has cost us big bucks.

But ive seen enough of us play "back to basics" football if you like, and hoping to not lose rather than win away.......home form has been slightly improving. Now Man city is out the way, we should be looking to win every game now. obviously the man u and chelsea games we will probably see what we saw yesterday.

so i hope that we play with a little less caution now, and take more risks.....which will be helped with the return of key players and hopefully no more injuries.

wasnt disappointed with the result yesterday, thats what this season has come to i guess, even thought we could have nicked it in the end but like i said, i look forward to a more positive approach from us in our remaining games now.

Do you honestly belive this is going to happen?  Remember this is the same side that played in a negative way v Wolves.

in short: no.

can always hope..and i believe we can do it.

but its more likely that we will stumble our way along....and it depends on what goes on around us if we finish 4th or not. going to the wire this one.
