A great chance missed to close the gap on Top 4 Aspirants, and we are level on points with Birmingham City.
Now we have a tricky game against a physical wigan side coming up midweek. They are one of the most unpredictable teams in the league defeating Villa, Chelsea, drawing against City and Losing 4-0 against arsenal, 5-0 against scums, and 9-1 against spurs. So if we can do a high scoring win that would definitely get some confidence back

That said last seasons home game against wigan was a cracker which ended at 3-2 in favour of us.
I wouldnt prefer a nerve breaking game like that and would like to see us sail through 2-0 or even a 5-1

Hoping johnson and masche would be fit for this game(they seemed to have picked up some knocks during the arsenal game)
i think we should go on an all out attack bringing aqua for lucas and if riera is fit play him resting kuyt
Let the red machine be on a roll from here

some head to head stats below

at the moment, in all seriousness...

should be 3 - 0
hopefully we'll scrape 0 - 0
realistically 0 - 1

We seem to have lost or drawn every "must win" game this season, so I don't think this is a must win game, more of a we must win sometime game.

This will either be 2-1 to Wigan or 2-2.

With morale so very low (feels like it does at my work place) and Rafa unable to perk the players up........

Well with the Shankly guys walking out on the pitch hopefully that will lift the crowd and inspire the players .
