He can't play in a qualifying game for us, but if we do qualify, then he is cleared to play - qualifying rounds and the competition proper are treated as different competitions...

i dont see why why cant pair the two together... I know Agger is banned for the city game, but he is made of glass afterall. I doubt Coates would be thrown in to start against city so would be suprised if carra starts them both and Coates sits on the bench for both.  - Unless he wants to give Carra some more game time, then sub him off for Coates on 60 min?
