Great win yesterday...... very much needed.
Another few wins and 2 good signings in January and things could be looking a lot brighter.

I still think Huntelaar and Walcott are ideal January signings and for reasonable money considering their contracts.

If we could then get Llorente and Moussa Sissoko on a Bosman in the summer we will have added 4 very good experienced players to the squad

I am not a fan of the Bosman market or of taking players who are running down their contracts.

The competition for them is high and you have to offer massive wages to get them. It's false economy because the lack of transfer fee doesn't always offset what you have to pay them in wages.

Then if they don't work out like Joe Cole you are stuck with them on daft wages.

I think Bosman signings are the wrong strategy for us right now, unless you get a young hungry player who actually wants to play for us and isn't after massive money.  Established stars? Forget about it I say.

What's this rubbish about Cheatski wanting 15 million for Sturridge?

The Russian is surely having a bit of a laugh with this one  :D

I reckon we'll get Sturridge. Don't think we'll pay £15 million for him but I have a sneaky feeling he'll be a Liverpool player come January.

Think he was 1 of the players we were after on deadline day but it fell through because we wanted a loan and the player wanted a permanent move.

I do think Sturridge is a decent player and wouldn't mind him at Liverpool but there are others I'd prefer.

Take your pick from Huntelaar, Cavani, Van Wolfswinkel, Remy, Walcott

I like Sturridge, but 15 million is a heck of a lot of money for a player who's contact is up in the summer.

I liked Sturridge before, but I've realized he's a bit of a selfish player, who really doesn't score as much as he should.  We need somebody who's fantastic at sticking the ball in the back of the net, not somebody who is a good player but not a completely natural goal scorer.  I feel if we were actually going after Walcott, he wouldn't be the only one we'd purchase, and he's been scoring a lot lately.

Really hoping for somebody like Llorente, Cavani or Huntelaar.  It's probably wishful thinking, but I won't be surprised if FSG surprises us with another massive signing.  In which case I guess I would be surprised...

15million for a bloke who has scored 2 goals this season and 38 in his entire club career. That's almost 400,000k per goal

And you have people on this forum who once again have their "british is best" opinions clouding the f**king obvious  :no

He is nowhere near the quality we need and as a club should certainly not be entertaining the 15m quoted in the papers.........

Leandro Damiao now linked.

That's now officially the 376th striker linked for January.

:)
