Thought the story was nonsense but it has been reported in several credible news sources so there might be some truth in it, will never happen though as Tevez wants to leave the country.

To be honest if rumours are true i think this may be a financial decision rather than a footballing one.
How many buyers would take Carroll of our hands, if that is indeed what the club want, compare that to Tevez who holds alot more stock!
I think we would struggle to sell Carroll for £15m currently  but you should still get £25m for Tevez, so a straight swap and selling on the player may be a good financial move and good way of moving Carroll on.

Just my 2p's worth

Both clubs have players they would sooner have off the books so its looks like someone representing Liverpool tested the waters and threw in a comment during a conversation. I would guess thats about as far as it went.

What it does do now though is put the idea out there that Liverpool are willing to business over Carrol and personally I believe they are and frankly why wouldnt they.

City where never likely to accept Carroll but we would take Tevez ahead of him you bet on that. Hes a gamble but so is keeping Carroll at this point. I reckon they saw it as the less of 2 evils but its just a pity that our lad has no value to City.

I think NESV are people that like to roll the dice and are prepared to take a chance and wheel and deal if in the mood and I wouldnt be at all shocked if they surprised us on Tuesday with a late piece of business.

I think it's quite funny that people are using this as a statement of fact that Liverpool are looking to get rid of Andy Carroll ??!! It's laughable now how people are starting to have more trust is newspaper rumour !!

Dont think its a case of having trust in the tabloids Benny. Its the discussion of how/why/where this rumour has come from.

Liverpool leak or press nonsense to keep LFC in the spotlight for a bit longer?

If its not carroll its suarez, if its not suarez its racist supporters.

Will be glad whenthe transfer window closes and even more so after the man u / liverpool game.

It's a rumour...and it's a rumour that's been reported from several places. No one is saying it's fact...

Do people really believe that we might give our striker the Alonso-Barry treatment 2 days before deadline day? I seriously doubt it. If there was any truth in this, we'd have done it at the beginning of the month when Tevez had a months less fat on him and we'd have 31 days to move Carroll on.

It sounds like garbage, but for some reason I feel it's true because of all the sources that have confirmed it.  Soccernet is almost always correct, even before confirming something.  I can't think of a time when they've confirmed something that was false, and they've confirmed this so maybe there's some truth to it.

We are starting to pick up some rumors in the transfer window tho so we'll see.

If this IS true, gaaaawd I hope we have a back up plan. What would be the point in unsettling Andy even more so, so close to deadline day? Why would we only give ourselves 2 days to find a replacement? If this is true.....youch.

I wonder if this is a smokescreen for something a bit more off the radar ?

I'd take him in a seperate deal, definately. The guy f'd both Manc teams around which is a plus

Surely he would know this would be his last chance. If he f'd us around, i'm not sure ANYone would give him another chance.
