Rumours gathering momentum that we could be on the verge of signing the talented Dutch winger. Seen him a few times, pacey, skillful, can beat a man with ease, something that we sadly lack at the moment.

Opinions. Would you like to see him at Anfield?.

hasn't got enough goals in his game for me. I'd be worried about him turning out like Babel all over again

Showed some good glimpses during the wc, but has been very similar to Babel in the bundesliga. A big gamble imo, especially at that price.

I know video clips aren't the be all and end all .... but that lad seems to have two good feet and knows when to pass / shoot.

Also his skill /ability on the ball appear to be on a different planet to the rap stars one trick push and run.

Look up youtube clips of babel. He looks like a great player too.

the few glimpses i caught of him during the world cup (or was it the euros...?) he looked decent enough. even though the names we're linked with aren't that exciting at least we're looking at out and out wingers.

Yep. Neither are good enough and I'm tempted to call that a "fact".

He is a better version of Babel, you can say an upgrade, might not be a top player, but he is a good one.

my main concern would be that he was only used as a sub for Holland and is also out of the squad at Hamburg. Should we not be going for players in the starting line-up of their respective club/country?

A video is no way to judge a player of course, but, from what is available he at least looks capable and willing to take a player on, on the outside and get a cross in.  He looks quick too.

If it means we can actually play a winger on the wing I'm all for it.  :D

Young, quick players at a decent price are better signings than Poulsen and Konchesky!!

He is young, quick, has a good touch, ticks the boxes. But for 13m you would want a current in form and regular starter. 6-8m would be worth the gamble.

If we are willing to pay 13 million for him , i would rather add 4,5 milion more and get Hazaard instead.

how difficult could it possibly be to be an upgrade on Babel?
