Sky Sports reporting that we are linked with Milan Jovanovic from Standard Leige on a pre-contract. I'd assume it was for summer but can't find any more details on this.

Could someone confirm / deny this if they have more details please?

Edit: That title didn't work out :(

Farking sky sports and their sources !

Goal.com reporting this, so must be utter tripe. Link to article if anyone is interested -

Milan Jovanovic

Appears that AC Milan and others were interested, but somehow we are much closer to getting him now. Another striking option for Rafa on a free transfer !

It said it is a done deal. Will come during the summer and the contract is for 3 years.

Never seen him played and not really sure. But the fact that we are constantly looking for Free transfer means we don't have much money to spend.....

Well, to answer the previous poster, No, I don't know anything about him...
BUT...
Apparently his club had almost concluded a deal with the mighty Birmingham (that's right, we're competing with the mighty Birmingham now for strikers !) but it fell through over personal terms...

Was he playing for Liege when we played them in the Champions League qualifiers last season. I remember they give us a pretty tough tie.

I've seen him play quite a lot and I can't say that I'm a big of fan of him. Eventhough he is capable of a moment of magic every once in a while, he tends to drift out of most games. And on top of that he has a terrible attitude. But these things didn't stop him to win the most recent 'Golden Shoe' in Belgium, given to the best player of the year. Then again, Kompany from City and Dindane from Portsmouth also won that prize :D

lets hope he's better than the last striker we had called milan :D

don't know a lot about him to be honest. did he play against us for liege in the CL qualifiers a couple of years ago?

There are real rumours that Milan Jovanovic has signed an agreement to come to Liverpool for next season.

Looks likely according to SKY and Sporting Life, free transfer so could prove to be a good addition in the summer.
This was the lad who turned down the Bitters saying they are 'not a big club'.

The fact he won't cost any money has to be a positive, surely what funds are available can then be spent elsewhere, why pay a fortune for a striker when one who the manager feels is good for us is available for nothing.

Spending money isn't necessarily always the answer, nobody could argue that the greek has settled in and performed a lot better (so far) than Aqualani, for a fraction of the cost.

Hope we get him personally.
