No thanks  :no . Came to the prem as one of the next "big things" and flopped.

Looking at his stats, two seasons with the scum made 33 prem lg appearances scored just two goals, although did do better for them in euro comp 14 apps 5 goals.
Now performing OK-ish with Lyon chipping in with a goal roughly every 3 games, but it is the French League  :D

Surely we can sign someone better than him.

Nabil Fekir's agent opens up on failed move to Liverpool as playmaker edges closer to Lyon exit

Fekir was on the brink of a move to Liverpool last summer

Nabil Fekir's agent admits that concerns over the Lyon midfielder's knee led to Liverpool pulling the plug on his move to Anfield – but insists that was only part of the story.

The Reds were on the brink of signing the France international for £53million last June after agreeing a five-year contract.

Fekir posed in a Liverpool shirt and even conducted an interview with club media before the deal dramatically collapsed.

Scans from his medical sparked concerns over the ACL injury he suffered back in 2015 and Anfield officials decided it was too great a risk given the cost of the transfer.

At the time Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas tried to claim that he had walked away from the negotiations and those close to Fekir played down talk about his knee.

Ten months on, Fekir has scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for Lyon this season and his future is once again the subject of debate in his homeland.

He's out of contract in 2020 and having failed to agree an extension at Lyon he's expected to move on this summer.

His agent Jean-Pierre Bernes told L'Equipe: “It is not about staying here.

“And we will know maybe the real circumstances that prevented Fekir's move to Liverpool.

“The knee was a part of it but not only that. He had passed a medical, done photos with the Reds shirt…”

Fekir's future is complicated by the fact that his agreement to be represented by Bernes expires later this month.

Apparently after the scan we renegotiated the terms of Fekir's contract without an issue but the Lyon chairmen wasn't open to doing the same with the fee. If there is any doubt, than a commitment to a £50mil+ fee and £25mil+ in wages wouldn't make sense. But if a large proportion of both the fee and wages was based on appearances for us than that would have worked.

I think we'll go back in for him this summer and at a much lower fee due his contract running down.

Thorgan Hazard has informed Borussia Dortmund he wants to join the club at the end of the season. Dortmund are prepared to pay Borussia Monchengladbach around £35m for the Belgium international, who is out of contract in 2020. (Kicker)

However, Gladbach would rather sell Hazard to a club outside of the Bundesliga and Liverpool are prepared to offer around £40m to bring him to the Premier League this summer. (Het Nieuwsblad)

I'd prefer if we got Fekir ahead of that Hazard fella. He has had a good season and surely put to rest any worries about his knee so I hope we resurrect that again in the summer. He did interviews and everything so even if he signs with a new agent he will still want this move. Given the season we are having I am sure he is cracking up he isn't a part of it.

By your logic that means we would only sign players from the Bundesliga, Liverpool FC have a large network of scouts that scour the globe for talent, its unlikely that Klopp has much involvement in this, he probably recommends players hes previously seen but hes not gonna be hand picking the scouts.

Anyone know much about Steven Bergwijn? Dutch attacker playing for PSV. Another Twitter rumour which keeps surfacing. Twitter so take our apparent interest with a pinch of salt.

Fabinho was a good acquisition Reg and he came from the French league. Personally I think its a good feeder league for the Prem as plenty of them have gone on to be successful since coming over.

Just what google throws up. It says he is a winger and has had a good season with 11 goals and 12 assists. Not bad in fairness and could be a decent replacement for Sturridge.

Fabinho came from the French league ?!

And look how long it took him to adapt....

If a proven top class player like Fabinho needs six months to adjust, them what hope have the lesser players got?  I still remember Falcao coming here under a cloud of hype.  He struggled and looked woefully out of his depth.

We are still getting linked with Lille Winger Nicolas Pepe with reports in France saying we are close to making a official offer.

I've watched him a few times this year and he's very explosive.. His style is as close to Mane's as you can get and he's scored 19 goals this year aswell.

I still feel he's going abit under the radar so we could get a deal wrapped up before the other big teams come sniffing.

At 23 years old he'd be unbelievable cover for the front 3 as he can play anywhere across the line.

My only worry is at £60m I think he's gonna be more of a replacement to either Salah or Mane.

Funny, I'd expected this thread to be mental the day the season ended
Anyway, if it's true we'll cash in ca. £150m from this season's heroics, there's plenty to spend on new and replacement players.
