Jorginho is an excellent passer but he looks quite slow. Unless he has ultra high intelligence and positional play I could see the pace of some games causing him issues. Quite happy with Fab to be honest.

Wasn't there some new rule brought in about the transfer window shutting when the season starts or have I just made that up? In the past the window used to stay open until August 31st.
If so that doesn't leave that much time for teams to sort their business out.

Yes mate that's right. I believe window shuts on Thursday 9th August and the season opener is on the 10th.

It probably makes sense as a rule (it must have been disruptive particularly for smaller clubs to start a season with a player only to see him leave 3 weeks later) but given the World Cup has taken a large chunk out of the summer you'd think they would have been better off bringing it in next year.
Ours is not to reason why I suppose.

TBH a lot of transfers involve a who will blinks first element which often gets dragged out for weeks and months. I think that process will just be shortened.

So with Allison at the moment it's clear Roma would be happy to sell. They need to sell someone for FFP reasons but obviously want a big as fee as possible and are feeding the Italian press with the line that if someone bids 80 million euros they will accept. We need a keeper but through the English press are putting the message out that we walked away after hearing Roma's price. At the same time we're telling the press that Klopp isn't going to give up on Karius and is also impressed with Ward and may consider giving him the shirt. And tonight links to Olbak have resurfaced in England. And in Italy they are saying we are now favourites to try and put pressure on the likes of Madrid to make their move. Assuming Madrid or another club don't come in and agree a move you can almost guarantee there will discussions between LFC and Roma.

Transfers are a big game and a shorten window will force clubs and players to get on with it much quicker.

Good point Eagle:  the first day of business was May 17, just a few days after the final games of the league season. Clubs will be able to sell players until August 31 but they won't be able to bring in replacements after the deadline of August 9.

Looks like we're back after Barca reserve keeper Cillessen. He wants first team football and he said a move to us would be hard to turn down.

Alisson on the other hand has said he would prefer a move to a London club.. That weak mentality worked out well for Alexis Sanchez.

I think we are more or less done in terms of transfers this window.. Klopp said he would be signing keita, plus "one or two more". We now have three signings, I'm only expecting us to get one more, max. Either a keeper if a suitable one can be found, or Nabil Fekir.

He may not now go for Fekir after signing Shaqiri who can fulfil a similar role in our squad, and keepers like Alisson may be too expensive. So that could be that in terms of new additions.

The Cillessen rumour has been dismissed out of hand again and again by all the journalists who are linked to the club. Would be surprised if there was any interest.

Bear in mind that Migs is supposed to be going, so if Karius exits we actually need 2x goalies!!

Either way I don't think Karius will be leaving.

Apparently we have made a offer of £62m for Alisson Becker.. Roma want £69m and are waiting to see if either us or Chelsea are willing to meet that price.

Hopefully we get Alisson and Fekir in and then just sell and loan out the deadwood.
