Great Idea!

Sakho's situation here has been untenable since last year. He isn't involved so far so its pretty clear he is up for sale and yet no one is rushing to sign him. No one will even meet the clubs valuation for him and even Palace who he was a success for last season won't meet it. What makes you think Southampton even want him ? After all given our own defensive frailties we don't even want him ourselves.
It could end up that we get another shot at signing Van Dijk but even then we will try to lowball before the door gets slammed in our face. He would be a Liverpool player already if we were willing to pay Southampton what they want but that is where the issue lies. We aren't or ever were willing to pay 60 - 70 million for him  :no

Apparently, Southampton enquired about taking Sakho on loan, but were told they had to buy him... then Liverpool let him go on loan to Palace.  That apparently, is another reason why they won't do business.  Also - and I feel dirty for even going on there - looking at what most Southampton fans - and there's some real pond-life on there btw - on that Saintsweb forum are saying... they're mostly going for the "VVD and his agent are greedy ***** who just want more money" angle.  They're completely glossing over the fact that he wants to work with Jurgen - which is the real reason he wants a move to Liverpool over others.

Sounds like a load of rubbish. For starters Sakho has never been on loan at West Ham  :eyebrow

Couthino put in a transfer request?

If so just let the lad go I don't believe any player should be held at a club against personal choice.

I agree. We should go after aubameyang, VVD, and Matuidi. We'd also need cover for the flanks and someone like Pulisic could be a good option off the bench

Problem we have as a club is using the money to get top players in, if we where effective in the market you could say ok go we can deals done to improve the group overall but its Liverpool, poor recruitment team and Klopp is very picky.

It's probably fake news...Even if true he shouldn't be released..He as well as any other player we don't have a replacement for needs to stay and bite the "bullet".

Even if he does put in a transfer request later today the club should just rip the fvcking thing up in front of him. What is the fvcking use of qualifying for the CL if every time enter it we end up going out in the group stages because our best players have been sold off in the summer? Remember that debacle against Madrid at Anfield the season after Suarez left? Who wants to sit through another wash out season like 14/15?

exactly! If Coutinho leaves Klopp will leave as well and FSG will be escorted out of England...It's pretty simple...

There is only one group of people responsible for Coutinho handing in a transfer request.

Not us, not Klopp or the players.

It simply boils down to the owners.

I hate saying this because it breaks my heart yet again, but little Phil needs to go. It's the only way the fanbase will unite and turn on the owners kicking them out of our club once and for all.

I knew they were parasites from the day they arrived. The bought the club for a bargain and have transformed it into a sickening business that will reap them astronomical profits when they eventually sell. And we as fans would have faced a decade of being uncompetitive for almost a decade.

We should refuse to sell to Barcelona as a matter of principle anyway, they bought Mascherano off us for £17m when he cost us £18m to buy and when they bought Suarez the supposed makeweight in the deal Alexi Sanchez somehow ended up at one of our main rivals. They have taken the p[iss] out of us more than once and are still doing it now, £90m for Phil when Kyle Walker is worth £50m and Virgil Van Dijk £70m?
If we sell Coutinho we will start this season significantly weaker than we ended last season and that is completely unacceptable, especially when the likes of City and United have been buying players like they are going out of fashion.
Coutinho is under contract here until he is 30 and there is no buy out clause so there is no way he shouldn't still be a Liverpool player come September the 1st, its as simple as that.
