Julian Brandt and Timo Werner would be two amazing signings. Quite a few rumours surrounding both, but no idea if it's going to happen.

He's good him, he reminds me a bit of a young David Silva. He's busy, always wants the ball and is always looking to create.

Just had a look at a few YouTube video's of Werner, not that impressed to be honest, best way to describe him is Eric Dier trying to play CF. He's too stiff and robotic for me.

I can't see us coughing up 100+mill for two players, Van Dijk and Keita.
We ain't City, Chelsea or Mannure so doubt that will happe. Our most expensive buy this summer will be probably around 40-45 mill and the rest 30mill and under.

Few rumours circulating on Benjamin Mendy, left back for Monaco.

He looked a decent player in the 2 games against City in the CL.

Funnily enough City are being linked with him to.

I guess that's the end of that then. Back to the likes of Sessegnon and Robinson!

Does make sense, leave the buying the league to those that can.

I think we will sign 2 players for big fees, breaking our transfer record in the process but links to Mbappe and Aubameyang are non starters.

To be honest, we don't really have a track record of signing the very top players. In modern times, it's always been a tier below (i.e Suarez, Torres, Xlonso, Mascherano) who have gone on to become top tier players and then we've had to sell them.

Stories linking us with the like's of Mbappe/Aubameyang are just nonsense. They are out of our grasp simply because there are clubs out there who want them and can pay bigger fees/wages than us in order to get them. Lacazette looks like he on his way to Atletico Madrid. Think he is one that is gettable but sounds like he wants a move to them.

Competition for players is just so fierce nowadays. Klopp mentioned the work is done but he is referring to the background work in identifying targets we will go for and maybe sounding out players availability. Actually signing them after persuading a club to sell and then negotiating a fee, persuading the player to sign and agreeing wages, seeing off competition from other clubs etc is where the real work is done.

Yep, Ayre long gone. Dont know how experienced Edwards is at it though. FSG obviously have a lot of faith in jim. Moved from a stats man to sporting director and negotiating pur transfers. Interesting to see how he gets on
