Yeah Rafa didn't handle it well but neither did Alonso.

What do you mean mate? I thought he was as professional as they come. His last season he performed brilliantly. I think the only clash i remembered was him not playing due to the birth of his child. I felt that was understandable.

So Emre Can thinks he's worth £100k a week.... On your bike mate...

He's aving a laugh. Apparently contract talks are on hold until the summer....offer him another deal at 50-60k and if he doesn't like it then he can fook off.

the sad truth is that that's probably the going rate for decent players right now...

he's probably worth 70-80k a week though...

I would have looked to offload Can this summer anyway regardless of this contract nonsense.

I don't think his ceiling is that high. No good when he receives the ball under pressure = not a top midfielder, in my book anyway. Passing is average and goes missing in games. The latter can happen with young players but I just dont think he's that good.

You start handing out 100k contracts to guys like Can then pretty much anyone in the squad can demand it. He has not earned it.

Emre Cans headache is Grujic who the club probably feel is at least as good as him and earning under 10k a week.

This is how Liverpool roll, theres a certain logic but its a small club mentality.

Him and Rafa had a fall out but that happens at every workplace, you just get on with it. The summer he left Rafa publicly said he didn't want him to go and the fans were practically begging him to stay but he left anyway.
Knowing how important winning the title was to our fans and knowing that Ronaldo had already left United I'm sure staying one more year wouldnt have put him out too much.

I don't blame him for leaving. Rafa's statement was probably too little too late; the plan to swap with Barry has fallen through. And when Real Madrid comes knocking on the door, very very few players will say no. In fact, for a professional footballer, it will be idiotic to say no for one's career. He had to take the opportunity when given. Real has lots of options with their limitless resources, the next year, they may have moved on to other players...

:nod

Rafa was never big on putting his arm around players and (imo) as far as Alonso was concerned the milk was already soured.

Don't know who Klopp thinks he's going to get this summer but it's already looking like the kind of striker we need will have done a deal before the season ends. Inaki Williams as an example. Aubemeyang too.

I'd have a punt on Joe Hart for the first team, Migs to the bench.
I'd also take Rashford from Man Utd too if possible, fast and tricky.

Sorry, which bit you not getting?  Joe Hart would improve the keeper situation and Rashford is an exceptional young talent. Just my opinion though

Is Hart really that much of an improvement on Migs? Both are prone to clangers.
