It's a good point though. UEFA is fortunate that football is biggest in Europe and the other parts of the world haven't developed it as much. If China develops a lot more it may become a lot more attractive to play there without the FFP sanctions in place

Also, with over a billion potential viewers out there, gate receipts are less important.

The Chinese market will be as such that its easy to grease palms and get deals done no matter who or how many people are involved.

No matter who you are there usually comes a point where dreams are over taken by money, the Chinese will buy your boyhood dreams and aspirations, one 5 year could make a young guy for life.

If it does continue to Flourish then many players may choose them over playing in US.

What are you trying to say Reg? That it's flourishing? With 1.3 billion population, both the supporters and their players should be doing better.

I'm saying its a joke and spending 50 million euros on a player is completely unjustifiable. If this continues its going to destroy the european transfer market system.

It already has destroyed the European market.
Once upon a time there was 20+ teams that could compete in the European transfer market. Teams like Aston Villa, Ajax - teams that have won the European Cup. Today, even some CL winners can not compete in the Euro zone.

Money has ruined the game really, not only has it taken all the romance out of it in terms of making the sport uncompetitive it's even got to the stage where it's souring the relationship between fan and club.

Exactly. Thats why i would like Leicester to win the league. It will be a nice smack on the face for the rich over spendong clubs.

Spot on yakka/redshade.

I've found myself growing increasingly disillusioned with football over the last 10 years or so. Simply can't identify with these multi-millionaire players and their spoilt brat attitudes. Sky was the catalyst for this back in the 90s even before the billionaire foreign owners and 'super agents'. The game is already ruined in my opinion.

I've found myself watching more and more rugby which is fairer in terms of distribution of wealth and talent. And the players aren't complete pussies. The only football games I go out of my way to watch now are LFC games. I watched my local team in the pro-12 on Friday night and a lad dislocated his finger, got it popped on on the sideline and played on. If that was one of our players he'd have rolled around the turf so much it would've needed replacing.

Football has turned into business first, success on the pitch second. Even modern football fans point to total team worth and net spend and figures like that. Such a mentality should never have been made relevant. Sky killed football as soon as they came along, match going fans are irrelevant now

Like us?

If money has ruined the game then we've played a big part, paying huge sums for bang average players.
