i was thinking more like, someone we have been linked with in the past, still young, two years on loan with an option to buy if his talent flourishes. Got to be better than buying the like of Aspas for cash and then loaning him out after a year of warming the bench

Tello is a awful player with no end product. I think at the beginning of last year Tello looked like he could solve some problems for us as a wide/behind front man kind of player, But Raheem found his form and Tello was no longer required. We now have CL and like Leeroy says we are aiming higher in terms of quality.

We have a bucket load of cash, are in the CL next season and came within a whisker of winning it last time around yet for some reason we are being linked to mid table dross and some very sub-par players that would not be anywhere near the top 4s wish list. I really can't make any sense of it! It's fcking depressing as hell.......

Ben Davies ffs! We've been linked with Moreno, Rodriguez, Rojo, Blind etc. how the hell does Ben f*cking Davies end up being the favorite to sign for us.

I agree, IMO he should be part of the first team squad this season. Because of his age I'd limit him to mostly cup games and appearances off the bench but he should be working, training, travelling to games and basically be treated as a member of the first team from now on.
He is absolutely devastating when he runs at defenders, he's like a younger version of Robben.

We've got a vacancy for that role, now Suarez has gone...

I found your comment especially funny since your forum name is `only me'. More seriously, no, you're not the `only me' with this feeling.

So James Pearce at the Echo saying Borini to Sunderland for £14m,  we are in talks with Remy's representatives and are like to miss out on Ben Davies as we can't agree a fee with Swansea. 14m Borini is a good piece of business for us. Remy has shown he can score goals and at £8m is very good value. Only concern is he seems to pick up quite a few injuries

  no, I'm talking specifically about his ability to run at defenders (but I suspect you already knew that!)  :D
BTW It's good to see that we've cooled our interest in Bony and we've decided to take a look at Remy instead. IMO Remy would be a much better fit for us in terms of playing style and more importantly he'd cost half the price of Bony as well.
£20m is way too much to spend on a player who is essentially going to be a back up to Sturridge.
Personally I'd rather see that £20m running around on the pitch not sat on a bench. Not enough of the money we spend actually ends up out on the park.

Excellent business if we sell Borini for 14 mil and get Remy for 8 mil.

I actually rate Bony too, but agree that Remy for 8 mil looks better value than Bony for 19mil.

The Echo are saying tonight that the club is on the verge of triggering Remy's £8m buy out clause and they are negotiating personal terms with his representatives as we speak.
Be a great piece of business if we can sell Borini for £14m and bring in Remy for £8m, we'd be significantly upgrading and making a profit at the same time.

Remy is far superior to Borini and with £6m in the skyrocket, just shows how odd football is, no deal is like for like and
its all about people, places, and situations.

Good as the deal is Remy is no world beater and we need more still, Suarez is a hell of a hole to fill.
