Have you heard something then cigs ?

He was in the papers yesterday saying he would only go if it would help the club out financially as he is Boro lad born and bred and that.

I wouldnt mind him and think he is decent.

He would only be 4th choice of course, whether he will want that or not is another question? But Rafa wants him so Ive heard.

OK, so Boro have been terrible this season but Wheater has impressed and that was recognised with his call up to the England squad! I would welcome this purchase. He could come in as cover at the back and learn from Carra.

They'll be a firesale at Boro. Despite the fact that Gibson has wiped out nearly £70m of debt at the club, the talk up here is that Downing, Tuncay, Wheater, Huth, O'Neill, Mido, Alves will all go.

I like Wheater although he's struggled this season and has been played out of position at right back a lot. I'd take a punt on him at a decent price.

I mentioned Wheater a few months ago as a fourth option when Agger's future was clouded.  My reasoning was not only because he is huge, a bit mobile and can dominate in the air, but also because he is English.  No brainer in my mind to go after the lad, even more so with Sami leaving.  In Skrtel, Agger and, Wheater we would have a very impressive young defensive corps that Carragher could help form for many years to come.

Ugly as sin as well...so there's a thing.

Actually, he's not a bad shout at all - a decent centre half.

Not for me... again, why pay as much to bring in 4th choice players who arent even that good....
And Wheater himself would be a mug to throw away any chance he had of making the England squad for the worldcup just to come here and sit on his :censored: and be 4th choice for us... Agger and Skrtel are both young and if we keep both then his chances of ever being a first team regular are slim at best.... We need to stop wasting money on average players who take us nowhere.. we've done enough of that in the past 4 years or so...

True but will the club be on the hook for the reconstructive surgery once his nose and chin finally fuse together? ???

He looks like Vidic's and Skrtel's love-child. :D

No thank you , gives too many fouls away and is overrated . If we get him on the cheap like 3 to 4 million than yes .
