Podolski anyone? - Bayern willing to sell forward

I think that it is possible that we need another forward, one who can score goals consistently and work alongside Fernando and Robbie.

Michael Owen is a name being talked about, but even though personally I would welcome him too many fans wont forgive him for leaving in the first place and I dont think in general he is wanted.

Podolski is an international player (who has looked very good in successive WC and EC). He has fallen out with the manager at Bayern and has not played much all season.
He is fresh, young, and talented enough to do a good job for us. He can also play out left and in midfield.

Bayern Munich have put a 9.5 million tag on him. This seemed a lot to me at first but when you consider what a genuine top line striker would normally cost the fee does not see too high.

I don't like this player, he only scores when he's playing with Germany.

Nowhere near the quality required.

so by playing with germany and getting the service - he scores

great thats what we want - a striker who can score when he gets the service

Are we talking about the same player?

Although a talent I wouldn't classify consistency as one of his selling points.

I would love to see podolski in liverpool . This player is class, only that the Munich coach doesnt give him a chance to play(dont know why) . And the price is good 9 milion euros .... For christ sake , we could sell pennant for 7 mil  :)

I like Podolski, I think he would be great playing off Torres.  He can play either side of a main striker, or down the middle himself, loads of options.  However I think he wants to go back to Cologne if anywhere.

not sure if Cologne can afford him. I think he would be great in the Kuyt role in the 4-2-3-1, and would be well capable of drifting anywhere forward on the pitch

Scored most of his goals in the German 2nd division, came early into the German squad as he was entitled to play for Poland a well, and so the pressure was on to give him a game before "the other team did". Decent player but not what we are looking for, plays on the LEFT when he gets games now.

I would be looking for better myself, especially as he wouldn't be cheap.

He doesn't get much games at bayern because toni and klose have been suerpb but by no means is he a poor player . He's always performed at international level when he has had decent service , he's a striker but plays on the left as well . A loan deal might be a good option to see if he can adapt

very good player, always said it, and still young too, with robbie misfiring this much, i don't mind having a go for him. If he doesn't perform, there's enought time on his years to sell him back.
