He's currently on approx. 104,000 pounds per week, and apparently not too keen on going much lower. "I am still the same player I was 5 years ago." he shot back when asked about taking a pay cut. Suggesting he believes his worth the 104 k a week.
Even if he took a pay cut to 80,000 a week, which is unlikely really, he would be the 3rd highest player at the club behind Torres and Gerrard.
Is he worthy of that? and how will blokes like Carragher, Mascherano, Alonso, Reina etc feel when he strolls back in and earns significantly more then them.

IMO if his any chance of coming back he would have to halve his wages, which he won't do.

To be fair owen may not be the player he was than but he's still profilic and he's done for a :censored: side like newcaslte who would be in the relegation zone if not for him . Half fit owen with 7 goals like the league . Torres and Owen would be a great strike force pairing .

Who's injured - Keane ? Not surprised - he must have piles the size of watermelons from sitting on the bench this season....
