I cant see Cisse going to Newcastle.  The OM Chairman has publically said Cisse feels attached to the city and club.  I think its a matter of agreeing a fee with us.

Marseille are actually paying his wages.  His the highest earner in France.  Where this loan deal has appeared from I have no idea.  I thought Cisse's contract was up next summer.:p

I would maintain tho Mick, given the option all over again, would you have not signed Morientes? I certainly would and looking back to Jan 04, I would not have envisaged within a year we would have signed someone like him.........    :grinning:

Djibril Cisse will wait until the end of the season before trying to finalise a permanent move to Marseille.

The striker is on loan from Liverpool and is hoping to stay at Stade Velodrome after failing to convince Rafa Benitez.

Marseille are looking to negotiate down the 12million (£8.2million) asking price, with the club keen to hang on to Cisse.

But, with l'OM battling for a UEFA Champions League spot, the France international is happy to put talks about his future on hold.

"We have always said that I would stay if we qualified for the Champions League," Cisse told But.

"But for the moment, (Marseille chairman) Pape Diouf and me don't want to talk about that.

"We are waiting for the qualification and will make an announcement afterwards.

"There will be other problems to solve, notably financial problems.

"Twelve million euros is a big sum, maybe it is too expensive.

"But we will talk about it later. That is not the point."

I'm tellin' ya, Cisse, Le Tallec, eight million, a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates to Ajax, in exchange for Huntelaar.

It's a good deal.

Great goal , that plus the fact that Marseille have now qualified for the CL surely must mean they want to keep him. £7.5million would be a fair price. He can obviously do it in France, 15 goals in half a season after such an horrific injury is incredible. If we dont get any decent offers (over £6/7 million I would keep him )

NO LOANING HIM OUT!!!

Liverpool should not loan Cisse for another year.  That doesnt benefit the club or Cisse.
