Yer I've saw reports about this.  He'll only be cover if he comes anyway.  Nothing to get too excited about really.

Lucas Neill sounds like a twat though doesn't he?  Glanced at the Daily Mirror sports pages before and Rafa reckons he's gone to West Ham for double the money after all the negotiations we've had with him, and the lad saying it would be his "dream move" and all that palava...

he's experience will be priceless for the team...i think pelegrino had an effect on the our defenders that triggered a long run of clean sheets...

he could even inspire the young argies we are bringin in especially poor palleta :p

just a thought

I'd take him. Carra hasn't been quite as commanding this year. Ayala is tough and uncompromising. The lads could learn a lot from him.

I agree, he might be being brough in as a potential coach or guide to mentor the new argentinia or other south american players we have signed or are going to sign.

Cant see him as a sound player for us in the premiership at all.

Ayala is still one of the best defenders in the world, the only question is if he can adapt to the prem and our way of playing, as most argies fail to do. If he could adapt he would be better than all of our current centre backs by a mile.

Ayala could certainly help Palleta with his progression, in addition to helping strengthen our squad.

 That made me laugh but ''theredfella'' is reliable, so we'll see.

Ayala is still a class act and would improve our defence, but would he come if he was just going to be a cover?

would be good for all the argie players tho

Ayala is 33 years old....Absolutely no arguement that he has been a class act throughout his career! He's too old now.

What sort of wages would he command?
I'd say megabucks.

How often would he start?
Not very often i feel.

Whats the point in signing him then?
None atal.....we might as well sign a player for the future not someone at the end of their career!

I like Ayala.

Her best song was "Orinoco Flow"

Sail away....sail away.....sail away.....
