Good Bob and bigmick have summed up Darren Bent quite nicely. He has decent all round ability, and will do well for a club like Charlton were he will find the space in behind, be the focal point of the attack and can regularly aim for 15 league goals a season, but when we need to break teams down he wont be much help because he has limited technique and is average in terms of build up play.
I would be shocked if we went for him.

My brother's workmate is Etherington's sister and she knows Bent.
Apparently he was saying "Yeah, I'm going to Liverpool" etc etc but hopefully it was just nothing, maybe he just said it off the cuff.

i for one hope this isnt true. but you have to say, who was jumping up and down when 'robocrouch' was signed? fast forward 12 months, and the guy's practically vital for both club AND country alike!
listen, we maybe should stop all this face pulling and wicked whispers about certain players and how they'll never be good enough for LFC... and just sit back and enjoy the ride. if its true, nobody here is going to mind if he turned out to be half as effective as peter crouch will they? but double figure sums? do me a favour...6 mill tops id say.
fwiw id rather see bellamy.

My uncles dogs next door neighbours budgie told me.....blah blah blah!!!
£9.5m for Bent is FAR too high. OK, he had a good season for Charlton but that's 1 good season. He has yet to prove himself in the Premiership (more than 1 season = consistent) and, more importantly, Europe!!

the problem being that if he does have another good season in the premeirship then his price tag will go up and chelscum will buy him,
is he worth taking a chance on..... maybe..............he's qiuck and has an eye for goal and will more than likely score more goal playing with better quality players and learning his trade from GOD himself, I'm thinking he may be worth taking the risk now on an player who has already had a season in the premiership than one who will take a year to adapt.....

arg...not too keen on bent. He's decent I guess. I think Bellamy is better and would be cheaper.
