Empoli striker Francesco Tavano is reportedly being pursued by a host of clubs across Europe.

Having bagged an impressive 16 goals this term Tavano is emerging as one of Serie A's most promising talents and his efforts have clearly been noticed elsewhere.

Empoli have moved quickly to tie the player to a deal until 2009 but with Roma, Internazionale and Fiorentina all circling, they will do well to retain the player's services.

In January Ukrainian outfit Shaktar Donetsk were reported to have offered in the region of €10 million but saw their efforts to land the powerful forward thwarted.

The Italian press are also reporting that Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Hamburg and Valencia have also had the player watched in recent weeks.

Metalhead... Too much headbanging mate. Statistics can be manipulated to make anyone come across as sensational. Archie Thompson currently at PSV (loan from Melbourne Victory) holds a world record for scoring 13 goals in one match. But the goals column fails to mention that they were scored against America Samoa.

Well I have seen him a couple of times and he is useful. Send Nando or Cisse the other way and it would be a deal well done.
